Thing is the Patriots usually have a great running defense, they were just leaking against KC. If they stop Denvers run, the Patriots win handily. I just dont think Peyton Manning can beat anyone right now. Can he manage a game that they win by running/defense? Absolutely. But if the Patriots stop the run I dont think noodle arm can win. Where as Tom Brady can score on the Broncos now that he has everyone healthy. If this was in Foxboro Id say 100% the Pats will win, but its gonna be close.

So because people on a baseball card message board thinks the Patriots will win means the Broncos will win?

I don't disagree that if Denver can't run the ball, they'll get squashed, but NE run defense in the post-season hasn't been very good in the past few years (or against good teams this year). Denver only ran for 110 yesterday, and that was enough; I personally don't see Brady carving up this defense on the road. I think if the game is played in the low 20's, Denver wins. Anything more and the advantage goes to NE. And yes, if this game was in NE, it wouldn't be a question. Denver needed this to be a home game to have a chance.

Home field is huge for the Broncos...
Early forecast looks like Manning gets a nice spring afternoon in Denver vs playing in what looks to be a snowstorm on Sunday in Gillette. If it ends up snowing (realizing that 7 day forecasts are inaccurate and Rocky Mountain weather is a bit unpredictable), I do not like Manning's chances. Manning has never been a good cold weather QB, even when he had an arm, foot, neck, etc. All things considered, it basically comes down to this. If Manning manages the game and doesn't make any colossal mistakes, this one comes down to the wire. If Peyton ends up being Peyton and tosses up a few picks, they are in big trouble. I saw a lot of talk about the 2013 game, but both teams are so different, that I really can't even take that into consideration. 2 years in the NFL is ancient history when speaking about teams.

I think that headline right there is proof enough why it's still only $1.00.

There has been some talk about the weather and that being such a huge advantage for Manning, but maybe I should remind you they Brady will have the same conditions. He just better the Manning and should win, hopefully.

LB Brandon Marshall on Gronk: “He pushes off” | ProFootballTalk
Marshall addressed on Monday’s PFT Live the question of why it’s so hard to cover Gronkowski. “I say ’cause he pushes off,” Marshall said. “I mean, he pushes off and he gets away with it about 98 percent of the time.”

I'm a big Patriots fan, and I think they'll win, but I also think it'll be much closer than 31-7 or whatever. I think if NE plays Carolina it could be very tough for the Pats. They seem to struggle against the more mobile type QBs sometimes. I'd be very happy to see Goodell have to hand them the Lombardi trophy again.
Peyton didn't look great on Sunday at all, but to be honest there were some times Brady got very lucky and should've been picked off. I also didn't really understand their clock management late in the game. The second to last time the Patriots had the ball, they threw for 6 yards on first down. So it was 2nd and 4, and they proceed to throw the ball the next two plays, don't get a first down, and took about 45 seconds off the clock for the entire drive. If they took longer there and ran it twice instead of throwing two imcompletes, they could've burned KCs time outs or another minute or so off the clock. Glad it ended up working out, but it was still a needless risk. Last edited by Orange October; 01-18-2016 at 04:37 PM. |

I think he might be tied for the lead, but if not he is in the lead. Defenders play him physical and he is physical back, but most of the time they call it on him since he is bigger. He's been called for OPI 5 times, and has only drawn 1 DPI.

The line started at -2.5 for Pats ..... and a lot of bets flowed into it and drove up the points to -3.5
As of today --- it is down to -3 To find the powerhouse like NE and only giving anything less than a TD is strange. With that said, I am putting down a couple car payments on NE --- not only to cover the spread but also to be "way way way" over 44!

one of the best stats I heard this morning or yesterday is the list of the QBS from the AFC in the super bowl. I took from 2001 when Brady first got there. Amazing right? It was destined to be Brady/Manning/Roethisberger. Talk about consistency.
2001 Brady 2002 GANNON 2003 Brady 2004 Brady 2005 Roethlisberger 2006 Manning 2007 Brady 2008 Roethlisberger 2009 Manning 2010 Roethlisberger 2011 Brady 2012 FLACCO 2013 Manning 2014 Brady

I think denver has a better shot this time than previous games where they were all offense. Think their defense can keep it close and the pats defense isnt untouchable.
