I see. So Peyton has 15 APPEARANCES and Tom Brady has 13 APPEARANCES. That sounds great and all but I think literally everyone on this message board would rather have the record for most starts and most wins. And I'm also guessing no one would want the record for playoff losses. APPEARANCES don't mean anything if you lose at the frequency Peyton does, especially when it's the first game of the playoffs. Do people really care that much that the Braves won however many straight division titles? I'm guessing some die hard braves fans do but they won 1 World Series.

To each their own who they think is better. I obviously know a bunch of people's answers after skimming thru this thread, definitely Boston heavy, but either way it's been fun to watch both play and sad to watch it come to an end. Hoping for a great game on Sunday. |

1 playoff game and done doesn't mean you won a playoff game and lost the second, it means you were in 1 playoff game and lost. You're correct in the eligibility situation but not in this situation.

No one is arguing the most starts and wins thing. These were just stats being stated and then you seem to have to defend Tom Brady when no defending was needed. It's okay for Peyton Manning to be great. Tom Brady can still be great too. |

Yeah I just realized that stat the other day when Darren Rovell mentioned it. Not sure if you're on twitter but he tweets some of the most interesting sports related stuff there is. If I could only follow one person it would be Rovell. Some people hate him, but he literally preps tweets to send out full of knowledgeable things that may have happened on this date 30 years ago or records some may not be aware of.

Out of those 9 losses, 7 of them came by 6 points or less. I can remember 2 of those games off the top of my head that were out of Peyton's control at the very end. In 2005 against the Steelers, Mike Vanderjagt (Colts kicker) missed a potential game tying 46 yard field goal in the final seconds that would have sent the game to overtime. Instead the Colts lost 21-18 because the kicker choked. Tony Dungy has repeatedly stated that he believes the 2005 Colts were his best team and they very well could have won the SB that year if they had been able to get past the Steelers. In 2012 against the Ravens there was the infamous blown coverage by the Broncos defense that allowed Joe Flacco to throw a 70 yard TD pass with 31 seconds left to send it to OT, where the Ravens eventually won by a field goal. There were other instances where the Colts defense was so weak that they were unable to hold the leads Peyton would give them at the end of games. Every individual game is different. Peyton actually has a slightly lower career INT % in the playoffs than he does in the regular season. |

I have no problem saying that Tom Brady has enjoyed more postseason success than Peyton Manning, or that Brady has a better overall resume than Manning.
However, I have a serious problem with people labeling Manning a choker. People see what they want to see and I sense that for some reason, people like to look for anything that suggests Manning is a choker and jump all over it without looking at gestalt. It's like they take one play and say "see, he's such a choker for throwing that pick" without recognizing that he practically carried his team to that point or that his defense gave up nearly 500 yards of offense. |

Von Miller says he only needs one second to get to Brady...
Von Miller: Tom Brady throws in 2 seconds, I only need 1 second | ProFootballTalk Man....I thought Denver used to be as tight-lipped as New England...since when does this stuff leak out from them? |

Denver? If they need to pump themselves up with trash talk then they've already lost (in my opinion.) New England? Heck, they hear this crap every week. |

from what I heard on Denver sports radio today, about what Antonio smith said about Brady being a crybaby was they were speculating that he (smith) was hoping the refs paid attention so when brady whines after every play that refs wont throw bogus flags for late hits and such. kinda dumb in my opinion. anyways GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!

Ugh, I felt so bad for him after that game. Guy has an amazing performance where it was crystal clear the Cowboys would have lost terribly without him, and he makes one mistake. Not fair at all. Romo is another one of those guys who gets bagged on way too much despite being an incredible quarterback.
