Two questions, how much do you guys think is a fair price for a 6.5 with some banged up corners & I thought only BGS graded these MJ XRC? Was I misinformed or am I missing something here?

Steve Taft trained beckett and has no vested interest in the reprinting controversy. He helped the FBI spot what was going on and stop the owner of Star, Robert Levin from doing what he was doing. Of course, the Jordan 101 was never the issue of reprints by the company but I guess that doesn't matter. Don't let facts interrupt a good story on blowout right.

PSA graded early on and bowed out because they made some mistakes with the 85-86 type 2 cards. Then instead of wanting to learn something they just said "were done". That 101 is legit. The Jordan 101 wasn't the issue of the type 2s or Levin's 90s shop at home money grab.

What I wish and what I would almost give my left nut for is for all the haters to stop clicking on the threads just to comment that they don't like the threads. When I see a thread I don't like I move on to the ones I do like. If that's the move here though I'm going to start trolling every Wiggins thread and every new Panini badonkadonk $20,000 a box product, with freaking Leonardo Da Vinci game used art 1/1's and scream at everybody who likes the stuff how dumb I think they are.
TO EACH THEIR OWN PEOPLE! TRY THAT! |

Ah makes sense no wonder the price tag! That's a center piece to any collection that's for sure. What do you guys think is a reasonable price for the 6.5 on eBay right now?

I own the best 8.5 to ever exist on the planet. 2 already sold for $12,000. Why no way on $15,000?? Is that too antagonistic for you? Have I not "been around" long enough to have credibility here? Keep peddling your commons lots buddy. Don't talk to me about what is and isn't possible with that card. Basically calling me a liar. You got some nerve on you pingbling. |

I'd be happy to have houdini or iluvfish scroll through my inbox and confirm it if they would do that. But I'm not outing another member.

FYI, I bought my Bgs 8 a couple of years ago for $1500, I would love it to be worth 10k. But I'm going to call bs when I see it.

12k sales on ebay, 2 of them but I'm sure you'll say those are lies too. I'm not bothering the member to out his business. Let's have houdini look at my inbox and confirm. Why can't we do that?

It's not worth 10k but it's worth a lot more than $1500. Instead of being happy about that, you want to argue over it. That's odd but yeah I'm the joke.

I actually chatted to one of the sellers on the one that sold for 12k even, it's legit.

It's around 4-4500 right now, I follow the market. That's how I know the 8.5 isn't a 15k card. No need to get your panties in a bunch and put down my collection that you probably haven't seen. We need more transparency in this hobby, I'm sure the member won't mind to come forward if you ask them.

I recall a thread on here noting that Beckett graded a Ewing XRC and it was on sale on pwcc and a collector noticed it was fake and pwcc ended up pulling it from auction after it was reported. beckett apparently graded a fake.

It's just weird. Most cards you know, they depreciate weeks after release and continue on a downward spiral for years. Now Curry, and some random examples are the exception to the rule but now we have Jordan stuff, Jordan of all people, his rookie card, with a print run of 3000-4000 sets, essentially rarer than the topps tiffany baseball rookies but only with the added rarity of the fact that there is no equivalent to the regular topps card available either of the most popular athlete of all time. His extremely rare rookie card is going up in value and people are like WHATTT? NO way! I smell something fishy! It can't be.
Is that not weird? The reaction to this? The fleer is going up and it's produced at an exponential rate of the star. Fleer stickers in 9.5 have been going for almost $4,000 lately and they are basically a rookie insert card which actually amounts to a 3rd year insert card. Everyone is ok with those prices. |

Interesting, I don't know enough about the Ewings to comment further, but sucks either way. Like I said before, I think this keeps prices lower.

That was a type 2 from the 85-86 set, a completely different issue, they did make that mistake, I was one of the people that noticed it, and Brent being the upstanding person that he is believed me and a few others and took it down. If I showed you an original Ewing and a type 2 side by side you would immediately notice the difference. I'm sure it was a rare honest mistake. Just like when they damaged the guy's reholder who was on here yesterday and just like when they mislabel something, and just like when the cases come back already chipped, or people's mail gets stolen with cards in it. Stuff happens. It's crazy I agree. But if it was the norm, we'd all stop dealing with this stuff.
