His offense is doubtless elite... but his SPs and lineup need to outdo mine even before my CL corps comes to outflank his arse

I'll make sure to note how many points my closer boys put up when we go mano a mano. Wouldn't be surprised if they provide the margin of victory, as you have a nice team otherwise.
I'm a Reds fan, JJ Hoover 2 years ago was one of the worst RP in all of Baseball and last year had a decent year. Now he's "probably" the closer this year while they are going to be a bad team. That's what you are banking on right now with saying you have a ton of closers. AJ Ramos, wasn't a closer last year when the year started and I picked him off waivers up during the season. Colome wasn't the closer 2 weeks a go. You are valuing closers way too high,l they change so often.

I don't care what my CL fabric looks like a year or two from now. What matters is that they will be ready to contribute points -- potentially lots of them -- when we face off in several weeks. Which they shall...

Upon a closer look, I think the gap in my favor between highroller's SPs and mine will be greater than that between our offenses. May not even need the CL cavalry to do their thing. Stay tuned, love some good trash talk

All I care about is the end of the year if I get a championship or not. I guess you can only worry about the next 3 weeks for your team, I will be worrying about the entire season.

I was happy to steal Adam Jones and Evan Longoria from EMB for a closer on a terrible team in A.J. Ramos and my backup catcher (at the time) in Stephen Vogt.

In fact, that might be one of my best trades so far. Having a solid relief corp is important, but he's placing way too much value on them IMO. I'd much rather have an ace than an elite closer.

The gap between Jonesy and my waiver pickup Parra will be at most 50ish points... if Parra doesn't outperform him. AJ Ramos points? You forget Jonesey's position... and lost that one, buddy

Longo = expendable on a team with three 3Bs, one of whom is Arenado

I'd definitely take Jones and Longoria over Ramos and Vogt (and Parra). Parra isn't very powerful, so playing with the Rockies won't help that much. Vogt is decent, but he's not as good as either Jones or Longoria (though he's good for his position). Ramos may not even be the closer right now if it wasn't for Capps' injury, and he plays for the Marlins, who probably won't win a lot of games, so he's not a top tier closer at all.

Chasing names is generally not good fantasy policy, but homerun will learn after some more years under his belt.

It's all about the zero-sum war over points. CL slots are 100x harder to fill/get a comparative advantage out of than OF slots. And yes, harder to maintain, but oh so worth it.

I've got Salvador, Arenado, Seager, Odor, JD Martinez, Burns, Sonny, Archer, Zimmerman, Odorizzi, Corbin... Reed, Fulmer, Manaea Barreto...

Obviously closers are just a small, though vital part of my squad. Bow down...

I think I've learned plenty, as I am the defending champion in both of the leagues I played in last year.

It's going to be fun as hell to destroy you when we meet.

Trash talking is fun.

If the difference in points is between Ramos and a noncloser RP in that slot (go ahead highroller, try to predict the RP out of hundreds who will put up similar numbers) vs. Parra next to Jonesey...

Hey, why did you reject all my offers for your closers? Same goes for homerun, LOL.

Ramos was on the waiver wire as a non closer 2 months into the season last year. He could easily not be a closer halfway through this year once again. Not sure what you are trying to prove.

Does that matter when he'll help me beat homerun more than Jonesey will help him beat me? Naw.

Geez louise...

They're playing some classic mike and the mad dog interviews on the radio right now. They just played rizzuto and yogi, now they're playing their fight with George Steinbrenner after the Winfield trade.

Black Magic puts up a valiant fight against Spirit of the A's but not touching his lineup for a week seals his fate = doom

Hamels vs. Felix will be an interesting way to begin the season for my team.
