I have no clue what you are trying to say? That following the code of conduct is stupid? That players shouldn't have to pay respect for the national anthem? I don't understand your logic? That somehow Im "soft" because I respect my nation and that of the opposing team? OOKay then. I can't argue the logic behind "It doesn't matter, standing up for the national anthem is being soft".
Does that code of conduct imply multiple anthems? I didnt see a "s" making it plural. It implies one. It doesnt even mention Canada or anything. Yes they generally do apply the rule to it but nowhere at all does it say they have to. It says National Anthem implying America since thst is where 90% of the games are. It doesnt say the American and Canadian National Anthem or the National including Canadas or anything. You dont understand my logic because you lack any...it takes some to understand any. Of which you clearly lack. Being soft is about being so hurt emotionally over something so petty and unintentional. Would you like me to send you a teddy bear to comfort? Ill go to build-a-bear and can have it play the Canada national anthem so you can listen to it whenever you have your moments.

Absolutely agree. It was wrong and big mistake. Trying to justify a suspension on it is absurd. Fine him and move on.

If he was intending to be disrespectful then I understand people being angry. Intent matters...Just because his apology doesn't sound exactly right to you doesn't mean you get to dissect it and question it's sincerity. Get over it and stop with the outrage over nonsense.

I read a bunch of the back and forth here and my take is this: it was absolutely disrespectful. As an American, we would make a huge deal of it if a Canadian player did that here in a playoff game. He couldn't stop shooting because his routine trumps the county's anthem:/

But I don't think it's a huge mistake. What is an irritating mistake is just the arrogance in not simply saying I'm sorry.

People make mistakes all the time without meaning to but you just say, "My mind was on the game and my routine has been the same for each year since I have been in the league, I am sorry if it came off as disrespectful. I enjoy the city of Toronto and have nothing but respect for Canada. I just was focused on doing what I have to do to have a good game." DONE.

Exactly. If he apologized I'd have a softer stance. Instead he doubled down on it by saying he's not "a disrespectful person" and not just apologizing.

In my eyes that's just worse. Complete lack of class and awareness.

I can't tell if Miami is the home team anymore. They show Jurassic Park so much youd think they were at home. Was it the same way for the Pacers series?

This is becoming one of those games.. stand around the 3 pt line and watch derozan take terrible shots. He really has no feel for the game... and terrible touch. So many midrange floaters n jumpers hes missing right now.. doesnt know how to just lay it up there soft and let the ball and gravity do the rest...

When we want him to shot he decide to pass it away for a 24 seconds violation.

Man get derozan out of the game.. he cant even keep a mental timer right now. That might be his first shot clock violation but he has been running it down to nothing and then strangely passing which you wouldnt know he was capable of but with like a second left on the shot clock so people have to rush their shot which is worse than him just taking the shot.

Refs let them mug Haslem then come down and let Biyombo travel to draw a foul. Love officiating this year.

Not watching the game, but saw the box score. How the hell is the scoring so low? Both teams shooting a respectable % and not a ton of turnovers. Are both teams running the shot clock down every possession?

Both teams are heavy isolation teams, so basically.

Benching Derozan was the right choice. Look at them playing with so much confidence now.

From a "I can't stand the Cavs" standpoint, this series is very sad and gives me no hope for anything exciting until the Finals.

Also, I've never seen so many stars being benched in the playoffs due to poor play or skill set. Derozan, Drummond, Teague. Anyone else?

Can't believe this is the #2 and #3 team in a conference in the NBA. Houston could at least compete with either of these teams in a series lol
