No clue if that's true or not though, I just remember reading an article on yahoo I think it was that if he is in the arena the penalty is a game check.

Though I would say the ownership should just give em the 170k to be in the arena. Would be a humongous sign that they are about the team and would resonate with the players across the league. Regardless of whether you think he deserves the ban or not I think players would react extremely positively should ownership do this.

Just a technical in my view. Green should be playing tonight.
The problem is the difference between the definition of flagrant vs technical. A technical is more of a non-physical action versus a physical action. Lebron was given a tech for physical taunting. Draymond was given the flagrant because he actually hit (or did not hit, whatever) Lebron.

And no. Green was not defending himself. If he was defending himself his arms would have been up. Also, Lebron was already over and past Green. Greens arm had to extend to the back of someone walking away. That's not defending.

Did Lebron deserve to get a shot somewhere (just not at his nuts) or some sort of retaliation? I absolutely think so. It was a total douche move. But at the end of the day it's the playoffs and these mind games happen all the time. Gotta be able to handle it and keep your cool. Especially when only one more flagrant foul gets a one game suspension.

No. Green earns $140k for a game. He needs to pay $140k for his suspension regardless he shows up tonight or not.

And according to page 16 of the NBA’s official rulebook:

If a player, coach or assistant coach is suspended from a game or games, he shall not at any time before, during or after such game or games appear in any part of the arena or stands where his team is playing. A player, coach or assistant coach who is ejected may only remain in the dressing room of his team during the remainder of the game, or leave the building. A violation of this rule shall call for an automatic fine of $2000.

Ahh ok. Figured I might have just misread the article. If that's the case. 2k is nothing. be there.

Isn't it up to his team to ask him to give them back $140k? Also, if he were to pay for the fine (whatever amount), I read somewhere (but I may be wrong) that his presence in the Stadium would also warrant a 1-game suspension (so if the Warriors lose, he would also miss game 6).

You are operating under the assumption that "people" are capable of distinguishing between what is true and what they wish was true.

Guys are athletes with huge egos. Lebron blatantly tried to humiliate Draymond despite what he said in his interviews and whether it was intentional or not what Green did, when he was trying to get up, Lebron's crotch was in his face.

Draymond is paying for it obviously but if you were in the situation, it will not be easy for you to just walk away.
I'm absolutely flabbergasted that you can even type this. You think LeBron was trying to get into Green's head? Just what do you think Green's main focus of every single game this series has been? What is the motivation for LeBron to get into a bunch of chippy nonsense with Green? If they both get ejected, does that help Cleveland or hurt Cleveland? How about for GSW?

Christ, people. This enforcer, chippy psych out type stuff has always been a part of the game. Were people messing with Ron Artest whenever he flipped out? How about Dennis Rodman? Did we let Dennis Rodman kick people in the crotch because he provoked somebody into being provoked? Why in the living eff do you think Green is any different? Because he plays for your favorite team? I could understand if this was a 1 time thing in a vacuum, but it isn't. Green has been pulling this stuff the entire playoffs, and it is something well beyond willful ignorance to try and claim otherwise.

The action against Adams against Oklahoma City could have been a suspension upon review, but they gave it a Flagrant 2 and two points. Again, had that been a suspension for the action it is hard to defend that one. He had a flagrant 1 and one point against Houston in the first round. First of all, sorry, if the NBA had common sense, the point system would start over for the NBA finals. NBA finals games should not be dictated by what happened in a prior series. In fact, whether or not you like what Green did, it was reactionary and caused by James. Sure there are people knocking Green on here, but he has always been a team player and winner in college and the pros. Had James not stepped over him as a matter of disrespect this would never have happened. In my opinion, he was guilty of a technical and not a flagrant, but that is my opinion. Regardless, they are penalizing him (and the team) for his flagrant points from prior series. I think it is a dumb system. This is the NBA Finals. Again, LeBron's best play of the finals, less than 3 minutes to go and down 10.......

He hit a person in the nuts for a third time. The NBA ran out of leniency for the guy. He's not a victim, he's a multiple offender who should probably be sitting multiple games at this point. Back in the day there were bench clearing brawls all the time, but they kept it above the belt. Nowadays, these guys won't fight each other like men but resort to cheap nut shots when they lose control? It reflects poorly on our entire species. Have we really lost so much respect for others in this country that below the belt shots are just another play?

What would you do if someone dragged their nuts over your head? If that happened to any player in the 80s, they would have had civil unrest. Riots everywhere.

Except that isn't what he did. Big difference. If he wanted to drag his nuts over Green's head, he would have dragged them over his head. This was a live ball, Green completely flopped, and LeBron was trying to get back in the play.

Are you really so far down the rabbit hole that you need to exaggerate or outright concoct a different insult to justify hitting somebody below the belt?

Sometimes that's going to happen when you flop like that in the middle of a live play. LeBron had every right to get back to his defensive spot as quickly as he could.

Lebron is quite possibly the softest athletically gifted athlete I've ever seen. Ever.

And I can't stand Draymond.

Im sorry, but do you honestly think Lebron was "just trying to get back in the play"?

Clearly a bit of both.

I have no sympathy for a flopper like Green, though. This is the path he chose, not liking where it led doesn't justify a nut shot. Funny how flopping and cheap shots go hand in hand with a lot of players these days...

I do not feel you are responding to my point. In the finals, except for one team having home court advantage, I believe the teams should be on equal footing. Any point system related to suspensions should start over. If you feel he should have been suspended for the Adams incident, which might be the case, that does not mean a make-up decision is okay to try and extend the finals and make more money. You are defending the NBA. The NBA probably wanted G.S. versus Cleveland as opposed to Oklahoma City. And it certainly wants more games in the finals. So while I feel Green only warranted a technical, even thought the NBA says it was a flagrant, it is a joke to suspend someone a game in the finals for one flagrant during the finals. This is his only flagrant during the finals. And I am not even commenting on LeBron's press conference in which he indirectly lobbied for it.

Sigh...
His "loaded stacked team" that was made via drafting, two trades, and free agents (two of which were undrafted).
You saw the stats. Now you're ignoring them again?
Jeez man, grow up!

What I think is ridiculous about an argument like this is the fact that a player could conceivably commit multiple flagrants in the playoffs, with no punishment. If you put it at anything over 2 flagrants is a suspension, for example, that's a free pass for someone like the karate kid, Draymond-son, to kick multiple players each round, or for him to practice his nut cracking on multiple players, with no repurcussions.

If you reset the points system after each round, it's a free pass to start over again.

You're hilarious...stepping over a player should = a fine and suspension? LOL how dumb is that? So what does flexing in someone's face or clapping and mean mugging right in someone's face get you? Since it's your new favorite team the Warriors, I'm sure it would get Green a PASS.

Lebron gets away with so much. If it had been another player who stepped over Lebron, I assure you they would have been suspended instantly for the next game and been thrown out of that game.
You should be penalized more for stepping over a player than punching out a player? Go home, you're drunk.

Either that, or you're the judge in the Standford rape case.

Also, what gives you the idea that a player stepping over Lebron would be suspended, other than your blind hate and potentially a fifth of Jack Daniels?

You're amazing...I honestly think you were crying when you typed this, and your keyboard probably needs to be replaced. How many dirty plays does Green make in some games? Enough, by your standard, to be ejected/suspended/sentenced to death, if it was Lebron James.

At least DWade Collector is entertaining...
