I have no idea why people hate LeBron. He has never been in trouble with the law. He gives a TON to charities. He's the best player on the planet. Some say he made a mistake doing "The Decision" but that raised millions for The Boys & Girls club so that is a heck of a mistake to make. What exactly is the problem with him?

Personally, I didn't like him more for being a player that was anointed before doing anything (he entered the NBA with the nickname, King James) and then not living up to his potential. To put it mildly, he was soft and wouldn't step up to the plate and take the big shot when necessary. Wouldn't take over the game and the team when he should've and could've.

The guy is undeniably a top 5 of all time physical talent. But I would put him just outside the top 10 of overall NBA players.

The decision, playing GM, and the flopping didn't help.

With all that said.

The Lebron that showed up in games 5, 6, and 7 is the player I've expected him to be since he first led the Cavs to the playoffs with a bunch of nobodies.

He showed he was and could be a leader, the guy to take over the game when necessary, and make the right decisions. If he continues to play like this, I could easily see 3 more rings for him and cement his place as a top 5 All-time player.

To be fair, that name was given to him by the media. He was a kid who had the spotlight on him from an early age and literally grew up in the social media era. It is pretty unfair to blame a kid who was growing up a man's league right out of high school with those expectations thrust upon up, at no fault of his own.

Judge him by what he became, not by how he started. He grew up in the league.

I actually like him and I'm a Bucks fan. He does a lot for his community, has never had any off court issues, and besides a few bad pr moves has been a pretty good dude IMO.

So when he shoots all the time he needs to get others involved. When he gets others involved he needs to shoot more. Dude can't win.

He might not be the clutch moment player people expect from him but that block was a clutch moment. That sparked this:

1. LBJ hustling back for the block on Iggy
2. Irving 3
3. Love switching and playing great D on Curry

Game/series over

Jordan passed to Paxson and Kerr to win games and he's a genius. LeBron passes and he's soft? If the dudes hit the shot he looks like a genius too. I'm not a Bron fan. I'm just a realistic sports fan.

I didn't necessarily hate that he was anointed King James. It was that he didnt live up to that nickname when he obviously could. It was the wasted talent that I hated more. I had no issues with the expectations. My issues were that he just lacked the killer instinct necessary to win the big games. He showed that he does have that and I truly hope he continues to play with that leadership and killer instinct he showed in games 5, 6, and 7.

Given that you quoted me I have to assume this was directed at me. Not sure where I said he needed to shoot more and/or blamed him for shooting to much. I thought he was great in the final 3 games. He took over when needed, but also passed when appropriate. There were certainly times I wished he had taken the shot instead of passing, but they were much fewer and far between than previous. At the end of the day when the game is on the line or the circumstances dictate, Lebron should be the one to step up and take over or take the shot. Something he showed a distinct lack of doing. I'm not saying he should be shooting all the time. But when the game is on the line, he should be the one to shoot it.

The difference is the situation and WHEN the pass occurs.

If you watch when Lebron passed it was way before the need to pass was there.

Jordan would drive, fake, etc. and if he got doubled or tripled THEN he would pass.

Lebron would pass at half court before making any type of move to the basket. He would have the ball behind the arc, face the basket, see a defender, and pass.

At the end of the day if you ask the question, who takes the final shot? The answer was always Jordan. Or Kobe for the Lakers. But you ask that question with Lebron and the answer was always, Lebron SHOULD take the shot, but far to often he didn't/wouldn't.

I'll be the first to admit that changed in games 5-7. I was very happy to see it. I'm a realistic sports fan also. My team is the Lakers. I was just answering your question on why people hate Lebron. My answer is only why I hate(d) Lebron.

Maybe a turd but for today he is a champion (turd). He answered the call and played like a champ these last 3 games. Even the most dedicated Lebron hater has to have some newfound respect for his performance. The hate can return in a few days.

I don't think Lebron's passing is soft. It is more about decision making in the 4th quarter. It is a smart basketball to pass to wide open teammate. It is not a smart basketball when you play hot potato game. First one is about making play. Second one is about being passive.

Lebron offensively was not at his best in the last 4 mins. His 3s and 3 FTs were clutch. The block on Iggy was clutch.

Other than these, both teams had their looks, but they went silence. Kyrie hit the 3s from ISO move. If not Kyrie's 3s, we would be talking about Lebron's poor closeout today.

The haters need to stop, give the man his creds. He backed it all up winning on the biggest stage against the BEST team ever 73-9. Being down 3-1 and pulling off this stat sheet for the last 3 games.....and winning all 3 becoming the 1st ever team to ever do so against the BEST team with the best record ever.

Game 5 - 41pt 16rb 7asst 3stl 3bl
Game 6 - 41pt 08rb 11asst 4stl 3bl
Game 7 - 27pt 11rb 11asst 2stl 3bl

Thanks

It was a team effort and Kyrie surprised the hell out of me this series too. But that's what Lebron does, brings the best out of everyone. He the true MVP.

Seriously, what kind of pressure were we faced with at 18? Many people would have cracked, maybe gone the complete opposite way.

Look at Johnny Manziel, brought it under all the spotlight as a young savior of Cleveland and look where he is now.

LeBron has pledged $41 million to put 1100 high school students from Ohio through college. That has earned him a turd-free designation for life.

As far as I'm concerned, he wrote his own redemption story and delivered under the greatest of stress. I don't need to be his friend or admire his personality to respect this.

I used to root for Lebron during the original Cav years. While I won't root for him going forward, my usual scorn for him has been displaced by disappointment in pansy baby Steph.
