1992 Front Row Roy Campanella Auto On Card Brooklyn Dodgers COA Wow! | eBay

Hey guys I forgot if it was in here or another thread... but people were talking about Campanella autographs (yes I'm too lazy to scan back a couple of pages, but I know it's recent)... I've seen these Front Row ones from time to time - and they seem to be different (drastically in my opinion) from one to the next. Is this more the cause of his disability? Is there any way of differentiating a legit one from a non, or are they all ok? Any help is appreciated...

I don't think anyone would ever definitively say "all are ok" about anything. But, yes, the Front Row autos definitely vary due to Campy's condition at the time of signing. But they are legit. That doesn't mean forgeries don't exist, but these are typically pretty safe bets.

Yeah, I was definitely a bit hyperbolic with 'all are ok' - certainly didn't mean that. I was thinking they seem to have the same color marker/thickness/pressure/some similar characteristics, so while one would expect to know an auto of an all-time great pretty well, are we 'usually' ok with a little deviation in his autos from this set was the basic premise. Thank you Skip - I was hoping you or one of the heavy posters would chime in - that's as good as anything for me to feel comfortable bidding.

Great question. I have no idea why its been like that. If I knew how to fix it, I would.

But thanks for the compliments!

Tonight's announcement also makes these cards even cooler. The only two catchers elected on their first ballots.

Kind of surprised that we have so few posts showing off the latest enshrinees. In any event, here are mine.

I own three of Pudge but have decided this will be the keeper.

I prefer the card and the picture of this one but wish the auto was a bit bolder. It will be sold.

This one is sharp and I almost decided it would be the keeper but nope, not quite.

I just love this card although I can't put my finger on why. It is going to be my keeper.

I'm surprised I decided not to keep this one, great looking card but it didn't speak to me like the first did.

My only Raines so keeper by default. Disregard the case that looks like hell in scan, card is clean.

Lot's of great stuff. Love the Tribute Bags, Jarrod. I love the Raines photo, Alex. And Mike, gotta love any card with Bench and Pudge on it (though I wish Pudge wasn't in that Tigers uni). And who doesn't love that Mantle ball? Meanwhile, here's my 3 of this year's BBWAA honorees (2 of which I personally pulled). I love the color on Bags:

I love this, the blue uni pops and I can't say that I've ever seen him add "Rock" before, I like that he did.

I'm an eighties kid when I saw this card I snapped it up (yeah not to many signed Rock). This thing is razor sharp with one nick up top. A keeper for sure!

Sorry to sound like a jerk, he has signed plenty with the added "Rock" inscription. I have about 3-5. Gotta find the images. But none the less, that is a beauty.

Lot of great cards of our new HoF'ers!

And congrats to Skip getting to 70%! That is an incredible feat!

Old Cardboard, is that you? I kid, I kid.

I'm sure you are right as I'm anything but a Raines expert. I bought mine a long time ago after a quick search and have never looked for another one afterwards. Even in my other HOF searches I've never noticed one like this though. That doesn't mean it is rare that he does so, just that it has gone unnoticed by me.

Lol, sorry to upset you

Yeah it's nothing I search out. I've been looking for them the past few years before he got elected (save $$$). There is a decent amount, I think one other ended recently other than the SGC holder one.

Just to make my own ledgers accurate, John Schuerholz is indeed the only living HOFer without an on-card auto, correct (or any auto for that matter...)?

Well...Grats to Pudge, Raines, and Bagwell - shuffled my autos of them from my pile of Stars to my pile of HOF'ers....

They brought me up to 244 HOF'ers

Happy to have upgraded (3) autos.....I have a thing for dated items, particularly government postcards:

Hugh Duffy 1953 Government Postcard ...replaces a psa cut
Bill McGowan 1951 Government Postcard.....replaces a faintly signed vintage ball
Willie Wells Dated Index ....replaces an index not dated..
