The only thing im keeping is the Dratini though i may keep the eevee and mantine. Everything else is going to be transferred. it's going to take at least 100k dust to make it decent, but that's my best option at dratini right now. i have a 668 dratini at 77.8% iv but i really want a high iv dragonite. my other evolved dragonite is 3114, but it's only 68.9% IV...

What would you all do if candy wasn't an issue? 668 dratini 77.8% iv or 482 dratini 93.3%?

If Candy was not an issue, go with the High IV, the stardust sucks but I think your pretty close to the point where you don't have guys to spend it on. At least that's how I feel.

But since Candy blows (you do scan so its not as bad for you) I would use the higher CP Dratini. Figure to make up the difference on the Dragonite might only take 3-5 power ups, but could be 25-40 candy. For someone like me, that's like 3 weeks worth (my wife a month, my friend who plays that's 2-3 months worth)

I know I'm working on my Third Dragonite (Never seen one in the wild) but I don't power up past 3k. I cant justify the roughly 24 candy needed for 100 cp. I'm making one last Gyarados I think, (like #6) and then I might make all 6 3,000CP before I make another.

I just had the realization that the next time there is a double candy event, if you caught a Dragonite in the wild(with a Pinap) you get 40 candies.

Also I caught a pidgeot today and noticed it gave me 500 stardust. Was there always an increase for evolved catches with dust, or was this new when they gave a boost with the extra candies.

I never heard it discussed, and was under the impression all catches came with 100 dust.

Which is why I personally don't think they will do it. Maybe double eggs or transfers but not wild catches.

hmm i will check on that, i never noticed or paid attention to the stardust on my catches. I will start looking. that would be awesome if that is true.

edit: i caught a Xatu and got 300 stardust, it looks to be that way for 3rd stage pokemon getting 500.


I caught a nice pineco at lunch and came back to a lanturn with watergun/hydro pump that will be good for prestiging. There was a Snorlax on the nearby but I couldn't make my co-workers stop to get it haha especially since there was no telling what side of the road it was on.
so far my replenishing of eggs so far has yielded 3 2kms, 1 5km and 2 10kms. so prettty happy with that. per usual i will hatch all the 2km eggs then wait for all 5km and 10km eggs before i put them in incubators. I really want 5km eggs so i can get a tyrogue.

Yes its like that now. You get bonuses each time you catch a second evolution of a pokemon and a third. You guys must no be paying attention much when you catch stuff. I noticed the first one I caught. You also get more candies.

yeah i definitely haven't been paying attention. all i pay attention to is xp and candy (mostly candy) because those are the most important to me. i'm never scrambling for stardust anymore I guess.

I knew the candies, btu not the stardust. I dont think they ever made an official announcement about that. The candies they did, but not the dust.

just like the Lapras event in Japan in November, this month Japan is getting a Snorlax event. should be easy for the spoofers to get theirs though, so we'll probably see a lot of maxed out Snorlaxes in gyms over the next month.

Anyways, a few weeks into Gen 2 and I'm up to 53 Johto pokemon but I haven't put in as much time in the game like I did with Gen 1. The evolution items are eluding me thus far (only 2 in 600 or so stops spun), plus Mareep and Larvitar are extremely rare for me to find so it looks like i'll be walking those for a while. I did have some extra paypal in my account so I got a Go Plus and I'm stocking up on candy for the common guys. I think I'll make a day out of a Pier 39/San Fran trip so I should knock out a few rares from that one. The cryptic 'Save your candies' message from Niantic though is making me hold off on evolving what I can though in hopes of a future double XP event.

Just walked to the bank and hatched a geodude, evolved a Golem.
Then came across a Quagsire, he has to be the silliest of all Pokemon.

I know I am way behind all of you guys in level and experience and pokedex but the ol ball and chain will be out of town 4 of the next 5 weeks so I plan to hit it hard. I might die I get so many KMs lol. I am so happy I discovered this group

Rooting for you! when my girl went out of town i grinded hard! it's always nice to be surrounded by people who share the same enthusiasm on this board!

so i was hoping for dragon tail/hurricane or dragon tail/outrage, but i'll take this. Hurricane has the highest Damage per second and it helps that he has 15 stamina so his charge move will charge quicker in battle. I put in 75k dust into this guy.. probably will refrain from putting any more dust into him for a little bit unless i need it.

oh and i meant to respond to your post earlier, soxrules, yeah i agree that there are fewer and fewer things i use stardust for now, but i also wish i could get my 2 gyarados to 3k, but my level isn't high enough. i may make 1 or 2 more since i have 1100 candy now (i don't scan for karp, there's just a lot of karp around here), but i'm sort of waiting for the right magikarp. my two 2900's gyarados are both 95.6 iv's. i have a 129 97.8% karp and a 121 95.6% karp, but that's actually a looot of dust. I have a 171, 86.7% karp that would make the most sense to evolve though.

It's a way fun group and game. I'm way behind most of the guys here.... and I always will be. I just like catching one of each kind and then I move on. I use to have interest in leveling up and gyms, but I really don't care. Just want to Get all the Gen 1 guys (only 3 to go), but then, I imagine we (my boy and me) will still play here and there.

Out of 7 10k eggs I've hatched so far three have been pineco all with 82 or under IVs and two Gligar. I have terrible luck but have boosted this guy up around 2000 CP. IV 96

Even though I've never hatched a dratini I am lucky enough to live on a block where the very few dratini and dragonites that do spawn, do so on my block. I have two of them 3000 or higher and several others in the 2000's. Their pretty rare in my town unless you hatch them. Evolved both my final volutions on Chikirita (98 IV) and Cindiquil (IV 91) pretty decent on the Chikirita with two good grass attacks Vine Whip/Petal Blizzard, the Cindiquil I got Solar Beam, and Shadow Claw. Wish I could trade the Solar Beam to my other guy.

Also finally started using my evolution items. I have 8 of them so far, still no upgrade one though. Didn't have any high IV ones for POlitoed so did my IV 93 one. Got Bubble and Hydro Pump so happy with that. He's at 978 CP right now with room to grow

I am 1KM away from hatching 2 10 K eggs. I am not expecting much because, like some of you , my luck is terrible. I am predicting a Magmar and a Pinsir. I will let you know when I hatch. should happen on my lunch break.

if you do not have any regional pokemon i think the total count is 233. nice dragonite above! all but the 2 3k dragonites I have were caught, but i have 3 others that are above 2k that I caught wild. Dratini's can be plentiful, but you have to spend a lot of time around the river in the city... I think this was actually the first dratini i've actually hatched. Also nice job on the politoed. i think as long as you get hydro pump, it is a win. I don't particularly like ice moves on a water pokemon unless you're planning to put them in a gym for defense and almost no water pokemon except lapras, vaporeon and gyarados are really found in gyms because of CP. I'm jelly that you have so many evolution items. I just got another one yesterday but it was my THIRD sun rock, which does me no good. I need 1 King's Rock, 2 metal coats and a dragon scale still. Will try to go on a spin run during lunch and try my luck. Caught a Stantler yesterday near the end of the work day 7 min walking distance from my work. it always surprises me what kind of moves these new pokemon have especially girafarig and stantler having psychic/electric moves. 11 pokemon left...

no way. how old are these eggs? if they are post gen 2 release then you can't get magmar and pinsir. i'm hopeful for you! I'm going to predict Skarmory/Chansey (not the worst), but I hope you get perfect Larvitar and Snorlax!

Just scrolled through my items and realized I got an upgrade somewhere along the line! Nice!! I actually really like the rarity of these items. It makes getting one that much more exciting.

Too bad I don't have enough Porygon candy yet. I wasn't able to play much during the Valentines day event.

speaking of wakling a piloswine popped up like 5 min from my house yesterday but i was already in bed, so i'm walking a swinub now instead of my cyndaquil. I know i know, for a lot of you swinubs and piloswines are everywhere, but they are sparse enough for me that I'm just going to walk it the rest of the way because I don't really feel like walking a mareep 5km per candy. It would take forever to get an ampharos.. i hope to catch an ampharos wild. Those things look cool

I think one is post gen 2. That is fantastic to hear that I can't get those 2 morons anymore. I got so many of them which is the main reason I stopped playing November - Gen 2 Update. I want a Snorlax because he is my favorite pokemon, I have a Snorlax lanyard I keep my keys on. but I don't want a Snorlax because I don't fight them because it makes me sad. LOL sorry I am a bit of a weirdo
