The brand split was never a good idea. The wwe doesn't have the roster depth or star power.

Once Goldberg and Lesnar and maybe even Jericho leave in a few months, the brand split will look REALLY stupid.

Raw would have NO star power. KO/Rollins are good, but not ratings machines.

Raw has no ratings draws. People wonder why Goldberg is around? It's because he's needed to fill out the thin roster and bring some marquee value. This is the E's fault for not properly creating stars. They've dug their own hole.

I sometimes think that they DON'T WANT to create new major stars.

They lost control of guys like the Hogan/Rock and even Cena kind of to a degree. They don't want anyone getting too big IMO.

This first hour has been better than the entire PPV last night and most of all the recent Raws. Solid opening segment without stupid authority, solid Owens/Zayn match, great Neville/Swann match, and finally Aries turning

Not till after Mania though.
Holy #@#@#@#@ you say that after one of the best hours of Raw in the brand split era?

I mean come on. Great Jericho promo which made him the most over he's ever been as a babyface

KO sets up his match at Mania by agreeing to fight him but only for the US Title, while also stating he still gets a rematch for the Universal Title when he wants it.

Samoa Joe and KO together beating someone down, making the Paul Horseman/Evolution thing looking more and more like it's happening.

KO beating Zayn with an aggression that shows KO has changed since his meeting with Triple H.

Neville continues to put on great matches, and the whole cruiserweight division seems to be rolling on the heels of last night's PPV.

Austin Aries gets introduced like a damn star and gets over huge before he even put hands on a dude and kick stars what should be a damn good WrestleMania match.

The quality of matches isn't what draws ratings. I do agree that tonights show has been good. The majority or them are awful and you know it. My point was after Mania it's going to be real dark. We will see though.

Anyone else think this turns into career vs career match of Lesnar/Goldberg?

Also one thing I was thinking about yesterday:

If you had the choice, would you implement an off-season for WWE? If so, which months or how

I'm not sure if an off-season would work/be feasible, but would really like off periods for the wrestlers. Figuring out a schedule/time would tricky, but giving guys/girls a month or so to recharge/rest up/give their characters a break may help keep everything fresh

no off-season but I'd try to implement a rotating 3 month off schedule especially for your main eventers. They do have enough talent that you could have guys go away for stretches and bring them back hotter then when they left.

Guys would work 9 months out of the year.

My plan re offseason:

Give each brand like 6 weeks off since that'd be enough time for minor knee/shoulder/back surgeries that I'm sure a lot of the wrestlers would get. Catch would be that programming gets replaced during the 7-10 M and 7-9 slots.

Raw off from after Payback (ppv after WM) to week before MITB (5/1-6/10 or so) which is 6 qualifying matches for the ladder match.
SD off from TBD (ppv after Summerslam) to start of November to begin build to Survivor Series
-- That way each of the 2 biggest PPVs you have 1 ppv to close off any leftover feuds and get a fresh start after

Air NXT on for an hour during each of the absences, it can build up to one of their 4 major PPVs. In place of Raw maybe another 2 hour European tournament and in place of SD a 1 hour Japan/China/Asia tournament.

yea that would never happen. I mean 1, they'd never replace Raw with anything for any reason.

I think, just say you have 12 guys as main eventers, 10 as mid-card, and 6 tag teams. Rotate a 6 to 8 wk off program with each level of guys, no one off from Royal Rumble to Mania though.

You know what needs to happen to move the Women's Revolution on, every time something bad happens, you can't have someone come out and start crying, or almost crying, etc.

if they could actually have them tell a good story instead of the #@#@#@#@ they book for them.

Liked the promo actually but the match was eh and it shouldn't have been given away for free with no build whatsoever

How I would have booked the Women to get to Mania

(working on the premise that we get to a Fatal 4 way)

IF you are going to do Bayley vs. Sasha tonight, then you have Sasha sort of heel it up a bit. Maybe try feet on the ropes, pulling the tights and what not. Instead of that ending I'd have Charlotte hit Bayley on accident while going for Sasha and that allows Sasha to win.

That would allow you to have backstage segments with Bayley and Sasha where Bayley questions Sasha about what she was doing. Sasha doesn't have to apologize, she wants in at WrestleMania and they are still friends.

Next week, Nia goes to Stephanie and wants in the match for the title, so she has to beat Bayley to get in the match. This time Sasha inadvertently hits Bayley allowing Nia to beat Bayley and getting in the Fatal 4 way

Go home show- just brawl in the ring, Bayley and Sasha can continue with the tension "come sunday it is every woman for themselves, but afterwards we're still friends". They hug and you pan to Sasha sort of giving a look of disdain.
