Default How long have you spent on one PC?

Just thought this would be an interesting topic.

I've been collecting Steven Jackson since 2004, so this will be 13 years for me. I'm set to hit 300 autos of his this year (currently have 279 in hand).

How about you? I started in 1989 but didn't focus on one player until 2004.

I started collecting Green Bay Packers stuff back in 1988, so overall main collection started 29 years ago.

As to a player collection, I started collecting Favre in '91, can't remember the reason now because he wasn't a Pack player to start with, but I still have every card I've pulled of his from that time frame. So, I've been collecting his stuff for 26 years. Only have 1 auto, but have around 1800 different cards of his.

I started collecting MJD in 2008 so almost 10 years. It is still fun but I only buy very rare stuff at this point.

Collecting Leaf Certified Materials (Now Panini Certified) since 2001. Looking at my PC, I can remember paying $35 for a Quincy Morgan Emerald Patch /5 and thinking I got a deal. Or finding a dealer willing to sell base jerseys /150 for just 2 for $10 and thinking I was robbing him.

Looking back, I sure wasted a lot of money!

I hear ya. I spent $850 on a lot of 45 of Jackson's autos that probably wouldn't sell for $10 each now. BV on my collection is over $30k, but I'd be lucky to get $5k for it today.

The only thing that makes me fell better, is that I'm nostalgic AF. And a bunch of cards I picked up along the way have never been seen again. And I can look at them now and remember when I got most of them. The good old days, when ANY jersey card was a major hit!

I started collecting around 1980, but aside from several sets that I hand collated, I've since been concentrating on my 2010 set, so 7 years of intense collecting for me, really.

I started in 1978 when my Mom bought me a pack of '78 Topps baseball......was instantly hooked.

I started PC of Jim Everett in 1987 as I was a Rams fan at the time. I'm so close to completing the run on Everett stuff, but it'll likely never happen as I'm missing mostly plates or oddball rarities that never surface.

My twin brother & I started collecting baseball cards in 1978. I was a George Brett fan and then when Ricky Henderson came out and we were living out there that became his guy.
We moved back to Green Bay/Upper Michigan after a couple years and he now collects Packers and my little league team took a trip to the Silverdome where we got to see a Preseason game Dolphins/Lions & we got to meet Billy Sims. I have hated the Dolphins since & that is when I became a Lions fan.

Biggest player collection is Anthony "A-Train" Thomas since 2001. I haven't picked much up lately though.

Started seriously collecting in the mid-2000s when I was a kid, and my first PC player was Courtney Roby in 2005 and still collect him, but only buy the rarer stuff (which doesn't happen very often), so 12 years.

Also, if anyone knows where to find a 2005 SPx Roby Holoview RC #/10, PLMK!! Whitest of white whales for me.

Same here except it was my Dad.

I have been collecting only Barry Sanders since 2002. But I used to collect the other Lions before then, and watched everything go down the drain.

I have been collecting the players from Nebraska for over 35 years now. I have 7640 diff cards now. Have located a few older odd cards that I'm working on a deal so the number keeps going up.

Charlie Frye since 2005. Not sure why I still buy them but after 12 years I figure why stop now.

My Tim Duncan/San Antonio Spurs collection. Spent 15 years on it, then sold some of it.

"Bro, I've been collecting Dak & Zeke since forever. They're the coolest." - errbody.

I've been collecting Aaron Rodgers since 2007.
Switched to ONLY Packers around 2012. It's been fun & rewarding.

I think it's extremely cool to see how many years all of us have collected.

I remember Sportflics, Edge, Pinnacle Mint...there were so many innovative designs back then...
