This above quote is not true on several points.

1. BO was told and I was told on separate times by separate Topps people that EACH case of 36 sets would have the 1:3 ratio. As a matter of fact, we were both given a 100% certainty.

I specifically said that I was concerned that perhaps there were cases of 36 nonauto sets and cases of 36 auto sets (working out to 1:3 overall). An owner of Blowout took that concern directly to Topps and was told with a 100% certainty that each case would have 12 autos.

2. BO bought more than 100 sets but they did not buy hundreds (from what I was told). How many they purchased should not have been shared (correctly or incorrectly). How many they purchased should not have been taken as an opportunity to cut corners on packing either.

3. They are not collated at 1:3 as we have seen in this thread.

I like the product overall, but it has been a nightmare. Topps has offered a solution, but that solution simply will not work.

That would only be true if Topps said, "Hey BO, since you purchased so many sets, we aren't going to collate the autos. Some cases will have no autos and some cases will have all autos. Surprise!"

Not only did they NOT do that, but they did the opposite and said with a 100% surety that each case of 36 has 12 autos.

Not Topps' problem?

I guess you are right though since I am the one stuck in the situation between Topps' post above and people in my break upset and requesting refunds.

I am so frustrated right now.

I very much like Topps as a company and I especially like the Topps Now and Topps On Demand Team. However, they have dealt me a harsh blow and the incorrect statement quoted at the top has me livid.
Hey Houdini, I've never been in your breaks, but I know you have great presence in BO and maybe hobby itself.
My statement was made basis not knowing that they promised you on collated cases.
I was mentioning basis those autos being in your remaining cases, and basis not having such agreement between Topps and yourself in advance.
So, sorry if you felt offended by my post.
I hope the aftermath somehow turns out better for you.

I wasn't offended at all and my post probably reads that way though because I am frustrated with the situation. ... but not with any individual.

I quoted your post only to point out the differences.

I don't see anything wrong with you posting what you did based on the information you had available.

You don't want to know, but I will tell you it is absolutely not possible.

I don't think they understand how the hobby works once the cards leave their warehouse.

Oh, I assure you, I absolutely do want to know. I'm curious as to how they handle this debacle when they absolutely refuse to acknowledge or placate numerous angry other Topps Now customers.

I'm sure they're aware how the hobby works. They ARE the hobby. They're incredibly intelligent and savvy. Make no mistake. Playing dumb is a wonderful defense, however.

Feel bad for you on this one Houd. I was kicking myself a few days ago for not getting in on this....that has changed.

I just wanted to say I'm sorry you have to deal with this Houdini. I can only imagine what a headache it has been (and will be until completely resolved). I think everyone appreciates the work you do with your breaks and knows you always put your buyers first and are looking out for them.

This sucks for everyone involved on the selling or buying end of Houdini's break. I hope Topps can find a way to make things right. On this type of release there is no excuse.

I agree with you - it should never been that hard to do it right. Sorry they put you in this spot.

As long as they make money and we continue buying nothing will change.

After much thought I have contacted Topps...if for nothing else to at least let them know of the problem so they can fix it and not have this happen again.

Oh honey, you think contacting them is going to make sure this doesn't happen again?

Honey, honey, honey . . .

There is no doubt in my mind that there is some shady activity going on. Absolutely wouldn't be surprised if Topps employee(s) are backdooring autos out of the product.

Topps giving BO the runaround shows just how little they care about the end consumer.

I ordered 60 sets. They arrived yesterday in two separate boxes. one had 24 and the other had 36. I only opened the box with 24 sets. Of those 24, I got 6 autos instead of 8. However, two of them were Mike Trout and I got a parallel of Aaron Judge /10 as well as the Bryant 1/1.

I'm really starting to think when mine arrive I might just sell them as sealed sets. Expecting to get 4 autos out of my 12 sets is probably wishful thinking based on experience here.

Either someone has to end up with a higher amount than 1 per 3 or obviously they went out out with the trash(to be picked up by employees curbside after work)... that's why I'm going to video myself opening my 50...

I will be curious how many are in the other 36 packs.

How many of the 24 packs where duds? As I stated early I got 3 which seems high.

I Agree with this - there should be 1025 parallels (41*25) and 544 autos (1632/3) - that is 1579 out of 1632 or 53 "duds" - that would be one in 31, so getting three in 24 is
a)bad luck
b)incompetence
or
c) malfeasance.

Yesterday I was betting on b) now I'm entertaining (c).

And I still keep buying.

Depends on whether you count a Jim Thome /25 as a dud.

0 duds in 24 packs. but the autos were poorly distributed. 3 machados out of the six and (not complaining) 2 trouts.

My 8 packs have arrived at a fed ex location 20 minutes from where I live but my tracking still says they'll be delivered next Thursday.
