This was discussed here at length a few months ago. I love the theory that all 35 are in a few packs.

It was essentially agreed amongst almost all parties that Topps held on to the cards.

Were any ever given out during the Transcendent party? I thought I saw that some were available then.

No they weren't, the only Bryant given away that wasn't exclusive to the party was one Black Ref auto in a 9.5 slab. What we were told by some of the Topps execs was they are in packs, but they couldn't (or didn't) explain the sequentially graded cards. I know a few other members here had more at length discussion about this than I did, if they care to chime in here.

The part about the fact so many were sent to get graded at once is sketchy.

No chance that they're in packs...Topps/Topps employees have them stashed

Sad thing is, if in fact these never got packed out and Topps sent them to be graded way back when, people would love to have these as replacements for unfulfilled high-end redemptions, but Topps could never admit they have them (if they have them).

They might as well dump them in the Atlantic Ocean.

They are 100% sitting in the desk of a certain Topps employee.

The ethics of this company seem questionable at best. It sucks for collectors.

So the other KB thread confirmed that Topps did indeed send them all in for grading to increase value and gave them out as high end redemption replacements. Additionally, the KB that was given out as a gift at the Topps Transcendent party(Balck Refractor Auto) was likely from that Topps KB BGS group submission also.

Thank you.

I was coming to my own grand theory. I'll put the chalk board away.

So they graded them only to increase their value? Thats hard to believe. If thats the case, how many other cards have they done this to? There is not a NON graded card that would equal the value of this card in its graded state. So they are just going to sit on them? I think someone over there kept them and had them graded to sell at a later date. When you are printing money its easy to be tempted. All we can do is wait and see if they ever surface. Topps says they were packed out. Yeah right.

Well, I was given this image some time back.

The information I was given is that these were sent to BGS all at once from Topps. I can only tell you what I was told.

this was my favorite part...

"The Bowman Chrome prospect cards, like the ones Bryant has, are typically considered by collectors to be a player's "true rookie card." Cards with autographs are even more valuable, for obvious reasons. So if there is one person with nearly all of these Kris Bryant cards, the collection could be valued over $500,000."

so then of the 50, 35 are missing? Or are they randomly inserted in packs?

They didn't meet minimum grade. 😂 . Unlikely, looks like they are currently stashed away.
