Default Pokemon and MTG players. Do you or would you?

For those that play Pokemon, MTG and other card games do you have a local shop to play at? If you do have one and don't go play why not? If you don't have one, would you go to a local shop and play if you had one in your area?

I'm just curious because my town has nothing like this and I've seen several youtube videos at shops of tournaments and gatherings. It looks like a lot of fun and maybe something I'd like to start up in a few years, assuming these games are still relevant. I just think it would be something nice to have in a small town to give people something to do and meet new people.

I'm not trying to turn this into a "why it won't work" or a "did you think of..." type thread. I've read so many of those in the past. I would just really appreciate some insight about playing at shops. Are shops like this lacking in the hobby?

Disclaimer: I've played very little MTG many moons ago, but really enjoy collecting the cards. I've never played Pokemon(except for GO), but love collecting the cards.

I have two shops I will go to occasionally for MTG. There are closer ones, but I refuse to go to them as they have a history of discriminatory practices against persons with disabilities.

One is for Monday Night drafting, the other is for pre-releases and other events throughout the year. They're always fun, otherwise I wouldn't go.

I personally wouldn't go. I don't do Magic, and I play OG Pokémon cards (base/Jungle/Fossil) but maybe you say its anxiety, but I'm just not social when it comes to that.

We do have a local place, and they do well on the Magic nights. I know they do pokemon nights as well, but IVe never stumbled in on those days.
