I wish for the select service it was. Monday is due date on 259 items from select batch. Maybe just the 8 week batches are popping early

Correct there - my Selects all pop on the second to last or last day.

Basic service is a nice trickle.

Worked blocked the forums for me. I have not been up to date with this thread. Are they ramping up the eBay listings? I don't have specifics, but feel like A TON of new listings on my end.

This was an issue last year also, not sure about others years.
I shipped a submission before I went to the National last year.

At least you can prolong the aggravation of having every card in your submission processed with a corner ding condition note like I just got...

I need someone to help explain a seller's mindset to me. Maybe I'm missing something obvious. A seller is setup to list their COMC inventory on Amazon and eBay, which takes a 20% fee off the top when sold on those sites. I send them and offer on COMC for 20% below full asking. They counter with full asking.

1. If you would get that same amount through eBay or Amazon, why wouldn't you accept?
2. Why would you counter at full asking and not just reject the offer?

I also list my COMC cards on Amazon, and for that reason, I have my auto-accept at 20% off asking prices.

This has been an ongoing debate ever since Ebay came on the scene as a seller's option. Here is my viewpoint.

Since sellers do not have the option to sell only certain cards (it is all of nothing) on Ebay/Amazon...it is better to have the option to sell on those sites and hope you don't sell the better or hotter cards on there.

If I have a Mike Trout priced at $100 and it normally goes for $100 or a bit higher....and it sells on Ebay..I get $80...that sucks...but that is the risk of selling on Ebay....at least on COMC I can refuse that offer of 80....as a seller, you sacrifice that freedom to refuse an offer to be able to sell a lot of stuff that would not sell anywhere else and you are happy to sell regardless of the price.

My questions: Is it just me? Letting offers expire vs rejecting or counter offers

I do understand why some people do this but:

The last couple of months I have been done a lot of offers on COMC. Some of them are min. but lot of a little under asking prices, what I think is fair (due to the card, Number of cards on site, how many sold on site, how long they have been on site, etc.).

Before the last couple of months I would get rejections but very very few expirations. Now most of them have been letting they expire. ( several are from same seller)

I have NO problem with it but it is odd to me it is happening now.

That makes sense. In the example you listed, I would probably put the Trout at $125 knowing full well it likely won't sell on eBay and wait for a $100 offer on COMC or possibly even have it sell at $125 outright.

What gets me more than that was the counter at full asking. At that point, why not just reject the offer?

Probably because a full counter offer means "don't submit any more offers on this card. I won't take less than that on this item."

Ok, question for everyone--

I heard in this thread, that COMC might change the Cashout fes from 20% to something lower. Is there any truth to this? I plan on cashing out in November but I will be pissed if they drop it to 10% or 15% in December/January. Anyone have info on this, or a COMC update on it?

If they reject the offer, you'll never see it unless you dig through your Offer History. If they counter at full price, you'll have the option to accept or reject the counter offer.

If you're a high volume buyer or seller, you might have many hundreds or thousands of pages in your Offer History. It isn't easy to tell which items you've made offers on and which ones you didn't.

If I'm buying a bunch of items for my personal collection from a seller, and I make a bunch of offers, and if some of those offers are accepted, I would prefer if the rejected offers were countered at full price.

1. If you would get that same amount through eBay or Amazon, why wouldn't you accept?

If you sell it on eBay / Amazon, the card is permanently removed from the site. If you sell it on COMC, there's always the possibility that the person could relist it. If they have 2 copies of a card, you could undercut their price on their own card.

Also, I am under the impression that some sellers just hate flippers. They don't mind giving a deal to a "true collector", but they hate the idea that someone is just going to reprice the card and try to sell it for more.

A lot of people with an eBay / Amazon icon next to their name have their auto-accept set to at least 20% off, so it's not a bad idea to send a test offer and see if it's automatically accepted. But some also have their auto-reject set at 0% off, in which case the price is take it or leave it.

Bear in mind, a lot of the advantage to selling on COMC is that you can do it passively. If someone has to field offer after offer after offer, it can wear them down. I've seen many sellers who take an offer personally - like they feel that they priced the item correctly to begin with and that if you want to give them less, they take it as a personal insult.

Package couldn't be delivered Saturday, they were closed.

Was delivered early Monday but still hasn't been checked in. I'm a worrier. Should I be concerned?

Unfortunately never posted. I sent an email earlier today, so we shall see. I'm paying for the 14 day service so stinks to lose days while it sits there

I haven't gone back too far but I am not sure why everyone makes such a big deal about getting their cards on immediately. I get it you put up the money to have them listed and all that fun stuff but you guys need patience. You are wasting energy and stress over something you have zero control over once you ship the package out.

These are my current batches.

Batch Approx. Remaining Due
3794243 315 8/17/2017
3842638 1,354 8/29/2017
3695263 873 9/5/2017
3695265 1,707 9/5/2017
3794273 1,775 10/3/2017

They will be listed it's pointless getting angry/stressing about the minor amount of any extra time they take to be listed.
