And not call YOUR strike zone, but the ACTUAL strike zone.

Yes! Consistency across the board would be nice.

I like how they said they will wear these white bands until their protest is taken seriously... guess they'll be wearing them a while, because nobody cares if you wear a white arm band. Nobody would have noticed them in the first place. When will they learn that nobody is there to see the umps?

The players should wear a wristband to protest Angel Hernandez and Joe West.

They're probably just creating leverage for their union negotiations. If I'm Major League Baseball I let them go on strike and bring in new blood that's open to changes in the game.

The "new blood" is already here and it's called Statcast.

White wristband is really going to shake it up. As if they couldn't be replaced by KZone - count your blessings that you even have a job lol

I'm aware. My point is that bringing in younger umps would increase the probability of them being open to incorporating technology more. I'm not saying baseball goes completely digital with it's decision making, but I do think there's a better way and someone with 30 years on the job probably isn't going to be too open-minded about it.

So Joe West is free to stare down baseball players (did again today to Jay, with that band on) and try to intimidate them, but they wear a band because the players are mean to them?!

How absolutely stupid. Maybe they wouldn't be "mean" to the umps if the umps didn't blow so many calls, usually centered around the strike zone. These umps think they are irreplaceable, but I guarantee you, they could all be replaced by this guy, and get it right 99% of the time.

I'm guessing none of these guys would've done too well with John McGraw or the deadball era.

The problem is guys like West, Bucknor, Hernandez, and Diaz can continue to call a god awful strike zone because they somehow cant get fired. The strike zone gets wider every season and these 4 are some of the worst offenders.

These guys actually think people buy tickets to watch them. Fire them all replace them and repeat each season until they are put in their place

Yes it seems like more and more of them try and make the game about them! I know I definitely don't go to a game to watch the umps. So just call the game according to the rules and put your white wristbands away. Nobody cares and stop pretending people do! As Kinsler said "Do your f&*#ing job!"

i mean, has there *ever* been a subject that's more 100/0 against the umps in these cases in terms of public opinion. angel hernandez and bucknor are the WORST! joe west coming a close third for sure.
