16/17 Leaf Best of Basketball and Court Kings - 85/86 STAR

Tried my first box of this year's Best of Basketball, I always love taking a shot and opening a few of these and didn't do too bad at all. Also grabbed another Court Kings because I've been extremely lucky with this product and it didn't disappoint... Totally defeated the odds, again and was almost exactly like my last box!! Here is what I got:

Court Kings:

Box Topper - John Wall

Jordan Adams Sketches and Swatches JSY Auto 46/199
Malachi Richardson Fresh Paint RC Auto
Karl-Anthony Towns Portraits Framed Emerald 2/10

Jimmy Butler Expressionists 3-Color Prime Patch 1/25

Magic Johnson Career Achievements

Is the Magic career achievements numbered or something? I don't understand. I know they have to get their Leaf products in there, but I thought they were at least autos. The air brushed jerseys are just bad.

No, they are reallyyy bad lol...I figured an auto might at least lessen the blow on some of these but those are randomly inserted. These are not numbered and are just a regular flimsy leaf stock. They went from having Skecthes/Auto Sketches, to an additional cut auto of a HOF to these.

Ok lol, I thought there must be more to it than just a crappy base. Not sure how Leaf survives.

Yeah I hear ya...There had been some awful boxes of this stuff broken.

You DO NOT want a Magic auto'd box topper, those go with $30 kicks in the junk as your buyback 'hit'....

I thought the exact same thing lol...If you pull a Magic auto, that more than likely means bad news and a bad buyback card

I purchased a box of this and while I hate to complain about a Bird auto, the hit is way out of line for the price point of the product. (Granted the auto itself even has issues, so maybe I should) ...To get something that isn't slabbed, and is one of the least desirable Bird hits from even that year of Exquisite, is truly disappointing. And then the junk Magic Cards they've decided to toss in these? Come on. Good way to make profits I suppose. Picture up a few 86-87 Fleer on the sell sheet, load it with $50-75 cards, and send it! Thanks Leaf.
