Is anyone planning on calling Topps on Monday about the poor quality of the Trout autos? Or the misrepresentation of the ink color? I plan on speaking with them.

Why this is a great idea: I think plenty of people who otherwise only buy a team or cherry pick certain cards...they would try to get the full run of 30 cards. I didn't get one, but after the fiasco with the Benny autos, the idea they would ship out some of the /99s in Red and some in Blue is a new low. Send the wrong pen I get, but tell us you are revising procedures so it doesn't happen again and then get two different colors on one run is staggeringly inept.

I like this idea (they didn’t do it last year). I’m a team set collector and I’d love to see them guarantee a card for every player that appears in a game for a team, not just the high profile call ups. They could have a set that builds on a season opener team set. Might not be enough interest, but much more interesting to me than having 50 versions of Judge or Bryant cards ...

Could be they realize the red pen just wasn't working so switched to blue. (Not defending it) We do all know that nothing will be done right? So best thing to do is move forward and either don't buy or buy...venting and complaining can help as we at least got some Red signed.

On a side note perhaps they did the few Blue to see if there actually is a price difference....

Trout sigs are awful since he is burdened with signing thousands and thousands of them. But, dare I say still better than AB? My Trouts were streaky on all issues I bought into.

Also about MT, I am trying to figure out if the bird flying away on the right side of his sig is supposed to be 27 or just gibberish part of his scribble.

On my cards I have a mix of what looks like a seagull, McDonald's endorsement, a 2, a 7 and yet I have none that resemble 27. Seems a legible sig from him might carry a premium and actually resale at half of cost of a TN card.

For me it's both. Advertised as red ink. Showed up blue ink. And very streaky with skips as well.

Exactly!!!! How does this happen. It's like they got about 60 cards innand realized they forgot this was advertised as a red auto. Unbelievable. Topps now has truly let me down with this.

Yeah. I'm just not sure what to do with this now. I like getting my personal cards graded for display but I dont imagine that this will grade very well. Also I bought this partly because I liked the red ink look. I guess I'm just all in all disappointed with my first Trout auto.

The #/10 should look really nice with the relic coming from Chase Field.
I wish I was a D-backs fan.

Should still grade well, assuming you send to PSA. I bet Beckett gives the auto an 8-9, if you chose that route.

No relic/auto cards, as the rest of the Yankees games are at home and, well, Steiner sucks...

I'd say just for the record, since he's pretty much likely to get it at this point. Guessing there will probably be a split screen card with Mcgwire for the tie.

I'd be livid if I got a Trout and it looked like the ones posted. Hopefully, Topps makes it right for all you guys. To me that is unacceptable. Reasons like this are what could sink Topps Now.
