Default When people don't put cards in the right category...

Or even title them right:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hayden-Panet...MAAOSwz0FZlLfG

If anyone is looking for a Hayden Panettiere auto from Heroes for cheap, here's your chance.

Or just flat out clueless. Most people searching for that card are going to put "Heroes Archives Panettiere autograph card" (or auto card), and they won't be searching under Baseball Cards.
Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, it just made me laugh.

If they'd have had Coolio sing that at the end of that Rick & Morty episode, aw geeez.

You're probably right.
I'm just appalled at the lack of effort in some listings. I mean, not even a good picture on that one.

Back before eBay would correct your searches if you spelled something wrong, my friend used to get great deals on Donovan macnabb cards for his Donovan mcnabb collection.

I’m only familiar with the weird al parody. I live about an hour from Amish country. Best farmers markets anywhere. Hamburger that was mooing like 2 days prior. Plus they make the best funnel cake. Crap now I’m hungry.

Well at least they got the title and her name correct. I always search all items anyways so it would show up, if I really wanted one.

This card sold last month for $70 so I wouldn't be surprised if the seller is bidding up his own cards.

I don’t think i’ve ever searched categories. Mostly just keywords in search, sometimes multiple variations of keyword searches, which I then save which makes it easy to check up on new items that show up. But yes, its great when someone screws up a listing and it goes for less

She played a cheerleader, right? Don't cheerleaders do sports? And isn't baseball a sport?

Most of the other listings (all singles) are in the "Star Trek Complete Sets" category, for some reason. Only a few of them are even Star Trek related. That said, it's a nice group of cards. I'll think he'll do all right with them.

I added quite a few nice "Wil Clark" cards to my collection this way.

Picked up a few of the rare Miracleman #15 comic books for a song back in the day thanks to "Miracle Man".

I've learned to use as few words as possible when searching and as many as possible when listing. I personally would just search 'panetierre auto' or maybe 'heroes hayden' or 'heroes panetierre'. You may have to sift thru a bit more stuff, but you have better chances of finding stuff. I don't search categories either. At least not for this stuff. The title of the show and last name of the actor are usually the best imo. Unless they have a ton of random stuff or signed 8x10s a lot of them will just bring up their cards. Would need to be a bit more limited for really famous people probably. But if they are saved searches you don't even have to soft through everything everyday. Just the few new things added day.

Sellers definitely need to do a bit of research before listing if they want to maximize their selling potential. A Melike Acar Walking Dead sketch sold a few days ago for only $40...because the seller didn't even list her name in the title or description.

In the sports world it is the other way around. Lots of sellers will check the box for "rookie" or "piece of authentic" or "autograph" when the card is none of those things, but just an ordinary base card. I suppose it is to cheat the system and get your listing into more search categories. I know it is impossible, but I would love ebay to retract the listing stating it needs "fixed" before re-listing and the seller is still docked the fees.

Like others have stated, I don't look up categories either. I just search the keywords that are the most important. But yeah, it is funny when people dont even title cards correctly.

Bad keywords:
My favorite example would be a 1/1 Nathon Fillion Pop Century auto that just sold. Yes it did have "most" of the important keywords, but the fact that they put "Rick & Morty 3" in the title instead of...ya know...FIREFLY...boggles my mind. lol

It sold in the $45 range which is farrrr too low :P
"2017 Leaf Pop Century NATHAN FILLION Autograph GOLD 1/1 Sp CASTLE RICK & MORTY 3"

Agreed, however, I think that was more of a matter of auction vs BIN
