Since I'm really jsut getting serious into hockey I figured I'll watch the expansion team, since I have always had alot of respect for Fleury. Have to check to see if they are coming to Buffalo.

A story of redemption for today:

[2001-02 BAP Be A Player Memorabilia Draft Redemption #10 - Dan Blackburn /100]

I occasionally bust older boxes, particularly the Be A Player stuff from when In The Game had a license, and redemptions are always a risk when doing that. Unfortunately, I had opened this box several years after this offer had expired. But I don't like feeling shorted out of a card I should have, so I went and bought another copy when one showed up on the market, which took another couple years at the time. Former white whale.

Even though the card says /100, not all 100 were redeemed. The fact that it wasn't a generic, thin paper redemption made me want a redeemed copy even more, so that I could have both. Luckily it wasn't a 1/1 or something.

I still remember playing 1 round of pack poker on 1995-96 Be A Player with the owner of my LCS. He pulled a die cut Patrick Roy auto and my heart just sunk.

So I chose and opened my one pack and he and I were just shocked when we saw this:

In addition, he was happy to lose to me and even even gave me a brick screwdown and pouch to put it in

One of my favorite memories about going to my LCS.
