I'm not sure and can't directly answer your question regarding the Giannis - but I do think I remember the players get a bunch of the Next Day cards unsigned to give away to friends/family. Pretty sure a bunch of the Porzingis ones showed up during his rookie year signed with a fat, ugly marker.

Exactly this - I wasn't bidding on any of these but was watching them.

Knee-jerk reaction for everyone is to, without thinking or doing any research, cry foul and that it was all shill bidding (I would assume seller's remorse plays a good part into these reactions).

If people would take the time to do a simple search of ebay sold items for Giannis, they would see that a ton of his cards have sold, and a good percentage of those have been BINs hit, since this past weekend. His cards are drying up fast, especially Prizm color RCs and if he keeps putting up ~30 a game, this might be the tip of the iceberg for his prices. Dude is 22 and is playing out of his mind. At this point, I don't think anyone can argue that there is anyone else in the the league right now who has more upside, both on the court and in the hobby

in my collection of over 500 giannis cards, not all rookies. i bought prizm base for as low as $8 each about 2 years ago and just 2 days ago still paid $90 for a bgs 9.5 prizm base even though i bought a few just 2 months ago for $55. believe it or not he is still extremely undervalued based on what he is going to become.

like you said all the good cards are drying up and will be put in collection never to be seen again or for triple what they went for. the only reason i would even sell any of my giannis is to buy other giannis i want more and i would want more then they are selling for now cause i know what they will be worth in the future.

at any given time for the past few months you could find like 50+ different color prizm giannis cards for sale. at the time i am writing this there are a total of 7 yes SEVEN total bgs 9.5 prizm colors for sale total, all color variations.
no one is selling, everyone is buying and holding.

people are even starting to catch on to how rare the elite rookie cards are. they are actually 3 times rarer then the prizms being #/999. they are selling the same as prizms now. i used to buy these for cheap not anymore.
no one has even listed any of the elite blue refractor die cuts #/66 or the gold refactor diecut rcs at all and, i want them all!! lol

the rare cards low # rookie year stuff of his is just drying up fast.

i honestly would have won a few of those auctions if i didnt just buy a new car 3 weeks ago.

I have a red PSA 10 I just listed.. we'll see. These are pretty darn rare compared to bigger stars' chromes. Only pop 6.

Why is orange prizm so cheap?! Only 60 and not die cut design. It's really hard to find. I think it should be higher!

Tempted to dump my purple prizm 9.5 and keep the rest just to kind of hedge in case Giannis were to flame out for some reason in the near future. I'll probably just hold onto it though cause I'd probably have to send to one of those cosigners to get close to the $1500.

I've had a couple of his Hoops RCs since I ripped a little bit of Hoops that year. One regular white border and the other with a red border. With all the hype right now, I decided to look at what they're going for just for the hell of it. Can't believe there's a red border Hoops RC on eBay right now at $36 with 4 days left.

Are the red borders actually rare or is the Giannis hype just that intense right now? Thought this was a $5 card at most.

Am I the only one that hates his face on the Prizm card? I think the action shot on the Select is way cooler and I dig the red jersey ( I know this does not translate to value).

Last one I remember seeing was a BGS 9.5 (w/9) that went for around $200. That was quite a while ago though.
