lol I have been watching out for 1 of these for a while that wasn't chipped edge. I have other 98's and they don't have that issue. The Manning's seem to be for the most part bad for it. Guy listed it for 1/3 of what most all the rest have been listed for in the same condition so I bit. It's my favorite set for 97' & 98'. I pulled a Row 3 Dillon RC Legacy and Row 1 Legacy Tim Brown back then. Sent the Tim Brown to a bud who is a Raider collector not to long ago.

Nice! Love getting a good deal. I love the set as well. I only need 2 Dunn’s to finish the 97-99 runs. I have 1 of the masterpieces and would love to find the rest.
Is your one of the bankruptcy versions? I noticed it didn’t have his name on the back.

I forgot I had this Barry. You don't see this one often at all:

I noticed the same thing right away and hope that it was factored into the purchase price.

The PMGs and Rubies get all the attention, and to a lesser degree the topps gold label red labels, but there are a lot of TOUGH sets out there that I don’t think today’s collector realizes how tough a pull it was in the 90s. Heck, the Upper Deck parallels/100 from 98-2000 we’re not easy pulls, and many good players can be had for under 5 bucks. Pulling a card /100 or less from the 90s is roughly the equivalent of pulling a /25 or less today(from a lower end product of course-not like a National Treasures where you get them in every pack ).

I’ve got some Score Patriots boxes en route, hoping to pull the last 3 premiere club cards I need- can’t wait to bust into them
DONT TALK ABOUT THE SPX RADIANCE!!!!

I need about 20 cards for the vet set.

Unless every one on eBay is a bankruptcy version including the Moss's & Barry's and a few others I do not think so. I am strictly looking at the 98' Row 2. I have actually been saving pics of the 1's I find and none look different.

Yes. There's an over flood of these. You need the name on the back.

Worthpoint has some with the foil names on the back, for example:

https://www.worthpoint.com/worthoped...ning-150478805

Although you're right that all the Mannings currently listed on ebay appear to lack the foil name, which is worrisome. The McNair I have has the foil name on the back, for what that's worth.

This guy was selling lots of 10 and more of everyone.

I dont think these are actually bankruptcy cards, but in actually true counterfeits.

I keep telling people, but they never listen: stop collecting players worth counterfeiting, haha.

Speaking of collecting players not worth counterfeiting, a new stack of McNairs expected in my mailbox next week . . .

Yea based on the quantities I have been seeing in recent months, my gut on the Legacy stuff was counterfeit, not bankruptcy. Didn’t want to be the first to burn at the stake for it though

I have examples of row 2 and row 1 legacy that are legit, can post scans when I get home from work just for a reference point to save in the thread.

I see a few problems with the 98 legacy stuff in particular that I think might have led to the counterfeit opportunity. The most important thing to realize is that there are different designs to the back side of the card. I think this created an opportunity for counterfeits. If people see a counterfeit first, they might be led to believe that that particular back design “isn’t supposed to have the name on the back”, when in fact, every row, and every back design, SHOULD have the name on the back.

Some sellers are more open about what they are selling, but anyone interested should definitely always ask for a scan of the back of the card. There are sellers who may have legit copies who just don’t scan both sides. I am guilty of that when selling, unless it is a 1/1 or some special serial # or something like that.

And we, as collectors of cards that don’t surface as frequently, need to have eachother’s backs and continue to share the knowledge we have. I’m not an expert on every 90s set by any means, but there are several I have collected pretty thoroughly for a long time, and I try to share what I can when it helps out.

If they were truly miss-printed at Fleer like these sellers claim, I think Fleer would of destroyed them back in 1997/8. Why would they of had them all sitting around for no good reason?

No they wouldn't or didn't for sure. Were you around for the great Fleer sell off 2004 or 2005? I don't buy Fleer patches because it became an issue with the cards Fleer sold off in bundles with no jsy/patch inserted. Then a flood of Logo's and nice patches started hitting the market.

The Score "Reserve" parallels were rare but I had a fair pull rate. Wish I had a certain Reserve card for a Vols collector.
The Cramers Choice - is that the normal sized card or the larger card ?
Will need to check the College card site. One of my favorites was the D. Brooks 95 Classic Printers Proof Die Cut cards /97.
