I am very happy with my Secret Santa. They did a great job with things I will really enjoy. Started with a SW T shirt, which would have been enough for me to be happy, but also got some really cool sketches, autos and a SW set and two SW 3d sets also! Thank you very much!

Looking for Andre Dawson Serial numbered cards that are his jersey number - either #8 or #10. So looking for cards like 8/8 or 08/99 or 10/250.

I'll update this later with pictures when I get some time, but many thanks to my secret santa. Really happy with all of the cards. Both sketches are absolutely spot on and perfect for my collection. Merry Christmas everyone!!

I just found out photobucket wants $400 per year to show my images. I can't do that, my images were shown for awhile and taken off. If anyone knows of another site that does the same thing for free please let me know. This is aggervating.

I gave what I thought was a solid gift, but I didn't spend much over $30. I hope the person who got me did the same (I won't be home until tomorrow). It's nice that some people are generous and spent a lot more, but I think it's really uneccessary and it will just make me feel bad. It's like when my girlfriend foolishly spends 5x more than I do on our Christmas or anniversary gifts. It's just overkill.

I would prefer if there was a range and not just a minimum.

Last year I spent $15-$20 above the minimum but received well over $100 in value. I was so grateful that I decided to pay it forward and I sent my SS some extra stuff this year (he hasn't posted a photo yet). I hope he's happy with his items!

I think a spending range would be good but then again as long as everyone follows the minimum there should be no issues.

If someone wants to be generous for whatever reason, I don't think we need rules to dampen that spirit. I've given a little more than the minimum both years, but that was my choice and have no expectation that will be returned.

Ditto for me as well. For me, I get as much or more out of giving the gifts than receiving one

There is a difference between giving and spending money. You don't need to give $100 worth of stuff. Remember, it's the THOUGHT that counts. It makes other people feel bad for giving less. Maybe not everybody, but I'm sure I'm not the only one. When the minimum is $30, then $40, $50... sure. But $100+? All I'm saying is I'll return that to the sender with a Nice card thanking them for the generosity but insisting that I cannot accept it.

I don’t think we should over think the Secret Santa thing. It’s supposed to be fun for both the giver and the receiver.

Value is also very subjective. I received a sketch card I would easily have paid $100 for, but others might not have paid $30 for it. The same is true of the Buffy PSC that one of the other participants received- he felt gypped, but most others (myself included) seemed to think it was a nice $30 Sketch.

I’m lucky to work for a company that I can get items to include in gifts like this for gratis. So they total dollar value of the gift I sent was probably around $100, but I only spent $40 or so, and the recipient seemed really happy.

So let’s not get so worked up about the dollar amount and have fun? I look forward to doing it again nex year

They came out a little big

When you click on the image on imgu, bottom right should be something like "medium" or "large" I suggest clicking one of those before you copy and paste the posting code. But yeah photobucket is garbage now, never go back.

I do agree that a range would be nice. Like $30-$60 or something. Not because it's about receiving, but because you see all these people saying 'I've got to up my game next year' implying everyone is trying to out do each other in the giving department. Which is great if youre buying gifts for people just because, but when it's a group activity you end up with people who feel they didn't get a good value (which yes is a bit ungrateful), but more so you end up with people who couldn't spend as much feeling bad because the gift they gave wasn't extravagant. More people might participate if they didn't feel like they actually had to spend 100+ in order to give an acceptable gift. It would just be more inclusive. And while a lot of prices are subjective. That's reel ways a risk. But if it was known that what was spent was in the price range, you can't really complain. And no one gets left feeling like they did an inadequate job.

I know I said up my game last year, but that was in regards to some of the uniqueness of the gifts. I know this year I dug around in old threads trying to glean some info on something different, but alas.. didn't think of anything out of the ordinary and the person I was buying for didn't get my nudges for info.

I completely agree with this. I was in the same "up my game" boat after last year and just really wanted to put the time in to find that right thing for my Secret Santa. I spent more than the $30 but not a lot more and I did it with no expectation of someone else doing that for me. I just really wanted the other person to be excited by what was sent and feel that it matched up with what they were looking for. I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from giving more nor do I think anyone should feel badly about doing what was asked by the OP. I've looked forward to returning to this exchange since last year and hopefully we can continue to do it for many years to come.

My View, to give something nice that someone will appreciate . . . the majority of people on this site are aware of the expensive nature of the hobby, so I gave more that $30 worth. There is no shame about giving more than the minimum amount. This is the Holidays after all.

Thank you to my very very secret Santa who's identity still alludes me

The gist was very generous. I received 10 common inserts I need to complete my 2013 Marvel Retro set! Which makes me very very happy It was very thoughtful of him (or her) to read the fine print in my BST thread This was a great gift.

My secret Santa also included a sealed Spider-Man Homecoming box (which I hope was scored at a sweet price from one of those holiday sales).

Thank you very much, whoever you are.
