Don't forget all the Seattle Pilots auto scrubs. There will probably be one of those per case.

I have a feeling autos may be more plentiful this year on a per case basis. At least I hope that is what happens.

Definitely disappointed in the SP checklist. Glad I didn't give into my urges and buy several boxes at the inflated rates. Based on the checklist, prices will come crashing down as I don't think it's near the value that the current prices indicate.

Add me to the list of last minute GTS cuts. Went from 3 cases to a "maybe" 1 case. Have to call on Wednesday morning to find out if that one case is even available.

I don't typically deal with GTS. I took on an account last fall for a shop that closed up but wanted to keep their account with GTS open. The deal was I could keep all of their pre-orders through February, and they had a lot of nice product on pre-order. Well I can say that I was cut on every single "hot product" from 3-4 cases down to nothing. The entire deal was bogus because GTS wouldn't sell me anything that was hot. It was a truly horrible experience with these guys.

Nobody who spends that kind of money cares about the base SP situation!! People aren't buying $1,400 cases because of base SPs. The price was driven by a dozen other factors that are all still in play.

GTS cut my Lcs also, from 3- cases to some boxes. I find it hard to believe they can get away with this a week from delivery. Feel bad for the Lcs and people that buy from them. I don't buy from them but if I did I would tell them where to stick it

Sorry you had a similar experience with them as me. I hope other LCS's and customers start using others distributors besides GTS.

here are my answers:

will wax drop? - not unless ohtani gets hurt or is a huge bust and even then not much (and if he starts out hot, cases will go up very quickly and by a lot)

is the SP list disappointing? - yes, but it's irrelevant to multi-case breakers and to wax flippers.

Agree.

I think we will likely see a replay of last year where there will be some very nice bargains to be had on ebay for 2-3 weeks after release, as breakers/busters will be thinly leveraged and look to cover losses, then slowly prices will creep back up.

As you said, there are many factors driving price, but Ohtani is the biggie. If he does even half decent, this product will be nuts by July.

I'm on the fence with this. Maybe my mindset is wrong, but after Judge (and to a small extent Belly) last year, is the collecting community expecting too much from Ohtani? If he doesn't do well straight out of the gate will it turn off buyers?

I say no with a little hesitation because Heritage has such a rich history with collectors. I know I'm buying regardless, but a tiny part of me wonders if this will be a letdown. Fingers crossed it is not!!!!

For most that paid anywhere north of $950 or so, if they dont hit something big they will probably be letdown.

Yeah the SPs are disappointing to me as someone who would be more likely to break retail this year. Was thinking I could pull a Judge or Trout and almost pay 50%+ of a blaster right there. Plus I've always collected Trout and Harper SPs.

Yeah, I can't speak for those who paid a significant amount over initial prices. I've only nibbled gently here and there with both hobby and retail.

For Case breakers

If mike trout was a sp it would be 10 dollars

You will get 1 or 0 per case

In base set you will get 8 mike trouts ?

Probably more value with them being base

Touched base with him yesterday, he's still deep in S1, sets, etc.....didn't have a chance to take a look at the pre-release checklist for TH just yet.
