2018 Topps Now "Moment of the Week"

Okay he is the short version...I will expand to answer questions in the top post.

"Moment of the Week"

Sometimes Topps Now misses a moment due to no access to a photo, not having rights for someone, or they just miss it.
So Now Moment of the Week gives the Freds and Jeeves the opportunity to release 3 cards to be voted on as Moment of the Week (will be only one winner).
You vote with your wallet: Meaning you buy as many of the card that you like or buy all three or one of each...just like a normal Now card. Once the 24 hr clock runs out they will tally the "votes" (or attempted buys/highest PR) and the winner will be printed.
Those cards bought in the first round will be printed with a winner stamp on them. The others will NOT be made and you won't be charged or a refund is issued (not 100% sure). Only the winners will get charged.
The winner card is sold for a week (without the winner stamp).

So say 3 events below where missed:

Aaron Judge sneezes and everyone laughs
Joey Votto actually gives a ball to an opposing fan
The Philly Phanitic's Birthday

Voting comes out:
Judge 300
Votto 188
Philly 226

So the Judge card is made with Winner stamped printed and shipped the other two are not.
The Judge card then goes on sale for a week and we have another Print Run for the card Winner Stamped 300 Not Stamped 888 (or whatever is sold)

So if they don't have rights or a photo how are they making the winner card? Or is it mainly like smaller moments they might have missed?

There's a beer that does something similar to this. Intriguing.

Sometimes it takes longer to get the rights for the guys or maybe he/she isn't covered under the MLB contract. But it is mostly for little things that got missed...and would be a great part of the set.

Thinking back last year there were some moments...maybe from smaller markets or teams just out of the running that would have made a great card they just didn't have the time or access (yet) to a good photo. The bubble gum HR from 2016 that had a terrible shot with no bubble would have been a great example...they could have just waited.
Tons of work goes into getting the right photo and the WBC Home Run grab almost didn't happen because there was no photo. They had to pull a lot of strings to get it to go down in 24 hours. They want to have a way to catch the next incredible moment that they just didn't get a photo of via Getty and that normally takes some time.

Hmm... thinking about how many of one card I will have to purchase to guarantee a Padres card becomes a winner ... :-)

If Topps want them Yankees' related, I can get a camera guy to my seats and he can have fun "fishing" all day for them "candid" moment.

Topps has to use Getty images for their cards...they can use others but not within the 24 hours (just can't make it happen), so this is where this comes in as well.
