I’m also not sure if you pick a card that didn’t win will get printed or not. If so I think Joe Panik is the card to really have as far as SP’s go.

looks like, you use your credit card to vote, if that card wins, then you get a gold variation of that winning card. Then the regular version is put on sale for one week to the public...
It acts like you can vote multiple times & in essence buy multiple cards if that card wins, but I could only vote once for the card ... if someone sees how to vote more, please let me know.. thanks! card is not charged til winner announced.. no charges for the losing cards... |

Only the winning card will be printed. If you vote for it during the first 48 hours, you are automatically charged and you get the card with a gold "winner" logo. Once the winner is announced, the card can be purchased as normal for five more days without the winner logo.

Will they offer a bulk discount on these or are they $8/card flat?

The way it looks like it is working is everyone gets to vote once for each card. If you vote for the winner you will automatically be charged $7.99 and they will only stamp and print the amount of cards that were voted on. So if the high number of votes was 100 they will print 100 with the stamp. They will then put that card on sale to be purchased as a regular version and it can be purchased in the normal qty as they offer the daily Topps Now offerings.

All my votes say "PENDING"
Is it supposed to say "VOTED"? I'm afraid I won't be getting the cards if it keeps saying "PENDING"

The way Jeeves explained it at the summit, you vote with your wallet and you are buying whichever card(s) are deemed the winner. (I think they are covering themselves for ties in the terms.) So you can vote for everything but you only get the winner. The discount refers to the $7.99 price. After the winner is announced, the cards without the stamp will be the standard $9.99 price. The only thing he didn't mention at the time (or maybe I just missed it) is the one vote per person rule. I assumed you could stuff the ballot box if you were willing to commit to buying that many cards. However, he also mentioned they don't want a "Boaty McBoatface" situation, so maybe they are limiting it to ensure that someone with deep pockets doesn't get Panik to win over Ohtani.

If it's one vote per person, $7.99 makes sense. I actually prefer it that way. The bonus cards that were 1-1 for actual purchases like the Judge HRD stuff are all super watered down. If these are one per person for the special winner cards + normal selling window for 5 days after, the winner cards will be highly sought after. I just didn't want to "vote" for 1 card at $8 if there was going to be an option to buy 20 for $80. Let's go one per person!

Topps now is dying and this is some desperation. Like some gold winner label is going to make a card desirable. I'd rather have one without that gaudy crap on it.

Here's my take:
You can vote for one card only, all the cards, or somewhere in between. Once the winner is announced those who voted for the winning card will receive that card. Why would you vote for multiple cards? If you pick a card that doesn't win, you won't get a copy of that card nor the winning card. Of course, your credit card won't be charged. I went ahead and voted for all the cards. Of course, by doing so, my vote won't affect the final results. However, I am guaranteed a winning card. In theory, if everyone voted the way I did, all five cards would tie and we would get all the cards. That is how I am interpreting "Your vote may become a purchase. Multiple votes may result in multiple purchases." Then, on Wednesday, we can buy as many of the regular edition of the Winner card. I think the way it is set up, you have to have set up multiple accounts to get Panik to beat Ohtani. |

Just to clarify.... you can not purchase anything at this time? You are just voting.
Correct. |
