There is a previously unseen ball of fire in the sky today. Throwing off bright lights. May be responsible for turning snow to water. Will investigate and report back.

I still think the whole glowing ball in the sky thing might be a taunting trap, merely presaging the shape of the Cubs’ final score, but I’m so hard up for baseball I truly care about that I’m willing to accept that risk.

God, it is great to have Cubs baseball back, regardless of outcome. Almost feels like Opening Day again after the layoff.

So is Maddon going to burn the Ian Happ experiment into the ground like he did with Schwarber?

Guy is striking out like it’s going out of style. How long before this guy is in AAA?

Free Albert Almora!

Plenty of good seats available in the shade (it's all shade)

In the tradition of War Bear at leadoff, Happ needs to pay a wellness visit to us in Des Moines.

Chatwood isn’t deserving any favors right now.

You can take the boy out of Coors, but....

He’s the star of the 2017 Cubs bullpen.

Justin Wilson is like: Damn, what’s your secret?

12 walks + 14 hits in 13 innings is even worse. I was a math major. Trust me.

Not liking the teamwide Hoth attire. We have a team full of Solers. Not good.

I'm less covered but (presumably) much more beer lubricated and I'm wishing I had the ski masks.

But you are just sitting there (like Contreras in his first at bat). Not the same (other than Contreras in his first at bat).

Ian Happ is the bizarro Ohtani (in terms of ST vs regular season).

Can we just skip Happ in the lineup to save time? Manfred would love that

We actually need to do that with Heyward to avoid double plays. The Intentional Sacrifice Out. Strategic gold.
