I don't know about that. Etopps did players like that and it never exploded.

Honestly I feel like I am living in bizarro world. Nothing makes sense. Commons at $200-$300 and Jeter/Judge/Ohtani around $15-$20.

Maybe this week I should load up on commons and leave Acuna alone since this is bizarro world lol.

Acuna will likely be $10 for awhile and who knows the commons might jump to $100 in a week no joke.

Etopps circa 2002 was smokin' hot with singles going for $500-$1000.

Not as far off as you might think.

Were you buying etopps in 2002?

Yeah because Etopps and this are the exact same thing

Not as far off as you think. A lot of parallels if you go back to 2002. Not if you go back to 2011, but back to 2002.

Remember, etopps had never been done before and the quality was 10 times that and they used original designs (most of the years.)

So anyone who thinks there is no parallel is wrong in my opinion.

And adding Ty Cobb is no big deal. Adding Clemente...that might be a big deal.

dude, first off... no, I wasn't....
secondly, why is every single post by you on this thread negative?
It has been that way from week 1.
We get it.. You don't like the set.
nor do you think the boom will last.
cool.
I mean, do you just get off on trying to piss on people's happiness?
I am not trying to get into a spat with you but geez man...
negative,negative, negative , non stop.

Seriously... Etopps was shiny and innovative for the times... then died. This is a different animal altogether. Classic feel... All encompassing of baseball past present and future... but just one of each player. This is completely different in my opinion. The more generations you reach with this the better. No disputing that.

I was around...this is 100% following the same direction.

Everyone said etopps set is different...it's new...get with the times...internet will rule and all cards will be bought this way etc etc.

History repeats itself.

The difference this time is I am older and hopefully wiser. I am buying and selling along the way. I am stuck with a ton of 2002 hockey, football, baseball that was worth a killing. Anyone want it for pennies on the dollar now?

I really have no idea if this will be different but I am sceptical. I hope I am wrong as I will do very well financially along the way.

It is a lot of fun right now though. I remember waking up every morning. Logging on to my dial up internet (eeerrrrrsssccchhhh beeep beep) to see where the prices had jumped to that morning. Good times!

You're insane. I love the product. I have purchased every week. Not sure where you come off saying I don't like the product and I don't see where I'm negative.

That being said, I'm not a cheerleader. I want facts, not rah rah. Ty Cobb won't mean anything more to this set than Honus Wagner or any other old time player like that.

I would like to know people's opinions on how long the boom will last as history shows it's not forever. I only hope I'm wrong much like I was horribly wrong about Markakis being a $2 card a week later.

But your post is uncalled for as it is inaccurate.

Honestly I think his take is the same as mine. We have been through what we feel is this sort of thing before.

I know a lot of people that put a lot of money into etopps and didn't get out. They are out thousands.

I think he is just trying to say be careful and buy what you can afford. Don't overextend.

Thank you. It's nice to hear from someone who actually experienced it compared to others who are just waving the rah rah flag.

I hope this stuff shoots to the moon. I have 14 Hoskins cards. All mint. I'm hoping they hit $500. But I'm not living in a fantasy world where the bubble can't pop. So that is why I monitor the market and ask a lot of questions, some positive, some negative.

No surprises here! I want to be "in the know" if the market is going to drop compared to being in lalaland like I was with etopps.

It's funny I just read your most recent post about e-topps and my first thought wasn't that you were negative but rather that every post i read of yours in this thread was 180 degrees the opposite of how i think. doesn't make me right and you wrong - just life and opinions and message boards. So I kinda think the other poster wasn't slamming you about being negative so much as maybe also just simply disagrees?

my thought is e-topps and living set are night and day and appeal to different type collectors. just because Living is only available online does not mean the target audience is the same as Now or e-topps. It's old school collectors as i have said many times, and again once all these collectors find out about this product, they will be jumping in.

If they want a rookie pitcher, they could go Kingham and give us a Pirate Card. I can’t see a third Braves Card before we get one of some of these other teams.

I truly hope you are right. The problem is, past history of internet products does not agree. Nobody, not me, you nor anyone else knows if this is truly different. The exciting part...I think by the National we'll know!

Yes, as I was looking at it more closely it could be Cal. Black hat with the Oriole logo (bird) that can't be seen. Good chance he drops this week?
