So, to be clear, you think Markakis should be a Hall of Famer, and you don't think that Jeter was the ever the best player on his team? Cool.

Jeter was never the best player on his team, correct! I think Markakis has shot if he gets close to or over 3,000 hits, correct. Are we cool?

Who would have thought at the beginning of the year we’d be hyping up a 13 year guy that never made the all-star team or any major awards.

If someone has a lot of time, check the HOF and see if there are any modern era guys who fit that bill.

I don't think anyone needs to waste their time doing that.

Jeter wasn't even the best player at his position on his own team for 10 years...

Well at least you wouldn’t get that 20 seconds of life back you wasted replying.

You could argue Bernie Williams. They were 1 and 2 on that team. I would give it to Bernie due to defense but either one is the right answer.

*if* this set still exists in 30 years, Jeter will be "worth" more then Markakis (Atlanta) and Markakis (Baltimore) combined!

I’m not saying this will happen, but sets from the 50’s-70’s that have those hard to find cards in PSA 8 condition have sold for more than the stars from those respective sets. Never say never.

Well, Roger Clemens was on the 1999 Yankees. But Jeter was by far the best player on the team that year.

LOL
No, compare his numbers to Bernie. You would be correct choosing either of the 2 as the best player on the team.

Rookies that might headline in 2018:

Devers
Albies
Torres
Andujar
Buehler (?)

Who else should we be thinking about?

Christian Villanueva would be a RC that could get a low PR

He is sneaky ... He is 34 all year

He has 2100 hits

I had no idea....

900 is a long way off.. But there is a shot

Eh... I think he's got another year or two left. When age hits, it hits hard and there's not a lot of room for old corner OFs.
