oh, absolutely

the worst thing about the last three years of Flagship releases is that the colors look horrible. for that reason, i started collecting Rainbow Foils of them, they are cheap (won a Benny Rookie for $1.04 last month) and they dont use those damn background noises lol

Is this the auction you're referring to?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-Bowman...YAAOSwk4RbMqTP

Last 2 bids look legit

https://www.ebay.com/bfl/viewbids/28...p2047675.l2565

You gotta love when a seller mentions needing house renovations in the listing.

Mookie with 3 hits already, How much is the injury going to hurt his chances at MVP ?? He sure is looking mighty impressive. Looks like a 2 horse race with him and trout, and judge and JD not too far behind.

There's a handful of players in the race; but missing 15 games hurts a lot. His pace is better than anyone's ... but he'll likely finish the year behind in all the counting stats.

Trout has been stuck in neutral for a while now though; so everyone is catching up. Ramirez / Lindor / Judge / Altuve / Trout / Betts. Six horse race IMHO; anyone catches fire they can get out ahead of it.

Unlikely, but he's up to .340 now. If he can crank it in the summer and get the average to the .360 range; it's possible. Being the reigning MVP helps if the race is tight in the end. (Having 230 hits in this kind of league helps too).

But assuming everyone stays healthy, I think Trout wins.

Never. Not even in the race; when you have as good a group of players as the AL has at the top right now, a DH has zero chance.

No J.D. Martinez in the middle of this lineup and the Sox suck.

That is value.

I don't disagree.

But he can't play the field. And in the day of sabermetrics; when his WAR is the same as Lorenzo Cain ... you're just not going to get an MVP vote.

I think this year even more so than in previous years, WAR is going to come into play.

Somebody is going to have to finish with 10+ WAR and be either within have a win or beating Trout.

There are too many good players in the hunt & they all excel in a variety of areas.

The only way to standardize anything is using the forms of advanced metric.

If Mookie makes a run at like .375 BA, 45 homeruns, then maybe that changes the narrative.

Long season to go still. But yeah, Mookie is silky smooth at the plate, beast.
