I could live with Manager cards occasionally included in the set, but not mascots. And by manager cards, I'm not talking about just any managers. They would need to be significant managers. Maybe the Manager of the World Series winner, or a long time manager who reached a milestone like 1500 wins or something. Not rolling out a manager card, in true Topps fashion, of the likes of Aaron Boone, simply because he's with the Yankees, a part of their clear New York bias, and because they just believe it will sell to their east coast homer base!

Got my 20 Juan Soto cards today and am pleased to say they are very nice. I believe, at least, 15 could grade PSA 10s. A couple may be a little oc and a couple have a spec in the black corner area.
Nice job Topps, Vinny |

I hope during the off-season, we get weekly sets comprised of three retired players. A hypothetical week, for "fun":
William VanLandingham Jarrod Saltalamachhia Ed Ott

Seriously though, remember how the top 2 had their last names on the backs of their jerseys start below one shoulder and curve around to the opposite shoulder? They’re going to need a larger black box on the bottom of these cards!

Got my Soto group in today.... the best condition so far. It does appear to be a different card stock... but it's gonna be tough to tell in auctions for the replacements if they are with the new stock. Especially PSA 10s of the early cards.
![]() ![]() And I attempted to get close up to show the difference... it's minimal... but they do look different. Ohtani - ridges or lines in surface ![]() Peacock - smoother surface

Nice pics Ferg. That’s the big difference I’ve noticed on the newer cards. It’s a nice smooth surface as to where the cards at the start of the set had those ridges. It was a nice idea to try and use the original card stock, but too many QC issues I suppose.

Now that we are seeing the use of Call-up on Now cards, I would assume those cards won't get a LS Card until 2019, so they have RC for heritage and flagship. But there is some gray area and I hope they don't play games. And more importantly don't give us a Call-up logo on LS cards. |

The value in PSA (to me) had always been in their registry. It’s what drew me to PSA and why they are the most sought after graded cards. If any of the other companies could get their registry as squared away I think they could run PSA out of business on new cards. Biggest drawback is the company will steal from you.

that game is over if you think a new company can come into the TPG game and catch up, good luck. BGS will fold before PSA will be defeated. Case closed

Just wait until next year and give them an RC - start it with the 1/2/19 set and you can get the hot call-ups in the off-season. |
