Long time coming. One of the worst in game managers.

Now the Nats need to fire Dave Martinez, he is by far the worst I have ever seen

Rather have him than Hurdle as the coach.

Does the crypt keeper come out of retirement to coach them again?

Hitting coach John Mabry and assistant hitting coach Bill Mueller have also been let go, and bench coach Mike Shildt will serve as interim manager for the time being

It was just a matter of time. Lots of internal fighting within this team, very little doubt that the story the other day about Norris was leaked from inside, but what I’d bet really did him in? Molina didn’t like him.

This was a few years too late. He was handed a very good team and just kept getting in his own way. I like an old mentality...if it wins. They were just saying how Norris was giving Hicks a hard time. I know Hicks has to mature but younger guys react differently to old school leadership. I am not a huge Joe Maddon fan but I respect how he gets guys to buy in.

Baseball has a rich history but it is evolving and if a manager can’t do it, then he has to go.

You should read the follow up article on the Athletic. Sounds like this was more media hype than a young guy being hazed. Also, other players on other teams are backing Norris as a good guy. Don’t blindly believe everything the media puts out for clicks.

First player coach in 50 years? It can’t really be done at this point, but I think it would be a cool novelty.

"Firing a manager with a winning record during the season is rare for any team. The last time it happened was in 2008, when the Milwaukee Brewers fired Ned Yost during a late-season slump (only to recover and make the playoffs)." - ESPN

I was thinking he has to have one if the highest winning % ever for a coach who has gotten fired.

I don't know a single Cards fan that is upset with this. I think he gets more blame than he should, but he just isn't a good manager. His daily inspirational texts would probably work a little better in A ball.

We'll if you believed the follow up article wouldn't you be blindly believing everything the media puts out for views?

If it was reported there must be some truth to it. I don't think anyone would disbelieve it after the crap show that's going on this season. Somewhere Dexter Fowler is throwing a party.

Follow up articles with responses from parties involved in an original article have more credibility yes. It provides context. I guess you feel the media is impartial and has no agenda. Regularly I see some article involving some veteran supposedly doing or saying mean things to a rookie. It’s usually much ado about nothing and written to stoke clicks. It triggers people.
