This game we call football has turned into a joke. So you literally cant lay a big hit on a QB anymore? It was a clean heads up tackle.

If i'm clay matthews i'd send a message to the NFL and just retire after the game.
This is insane. |

I agree that the new rule is completely bogus, but I think it's hilariously ironic that Matthews has only his own team's QB to blame

Clay Mathews isn't getting it.
The quarterback's momentum needs to be going backwards. Not down into the ground. They were penalties. |

Just saw the sack. Lame call, but like others have pointed out, when these QBs cry about getting hit, we have this...

"Football Purists" need to get on board with the new rules - in the last decade due to concussions and star players getting constantly injured they (NFL) are going to great extents to protect the QB. Either learn that or retire. |

Just saw the same exact thing in the Dallas-Seahwaks game..Dallas defender put an awesome hit on Wilson and "landed " on top of him. On a 3rd down no less. Now Seattle is driving..SMH...

Players have to learn to roll when/while they tackle the QB.
Rugby players worldwide do it all the time in order to get up quick and grab the ball. Football players need to learn it instead of driving the QB into the ground with full body weight like they have been for the last 80 years in the NFL. |

If I am clay Matthews I send a message to the league by picking the qb up and slamming him so hard that he is paralyzed and then flip off the refs.

The rule sounds good in theory to protect QB's but is asking too much of defensive players.
