Suggestions for a Promo ? - Page 9

I've really noticed a slow-down over the past year with their promos. I remember when every couple of weeks there seemed to be some sort of promo going on - Oscar picks, golf tournaments, hotdog eating contest, etc.

My personal theory on this is the security breach from earlier this year has really hurt their sales which has slowed the promotional offerings. That theory also doesn't make much sense because in the bigger promos it's not like they were giving anything away for free or offering products at discount rates. Maybe it's just the promos were getting to be too much to keep up with.

So no FREE weekly NFL promo like the past 4 or 5 years where we pick the top passing, running, and receiving players to win boxes? Can't really afford to throw $200 down on a promo every week for 17 weeks of football. That's $3400 and to me, that's 3 months of rent.

EDIT: Not wanting to sound greedy or ungrateful, but it was nice having a promo for those of us who are a little less fortunate.

This is the second year without their box giveaway promo. Maybe because last time they ran it, they had no winner for the entire season, which I would think works in their favor. They get to run a free promo with no prizes.

I miss the good old days where they'd have a promo to give away a lot of their dusty boxes that have sat in their warehouse for close to a decade. Now, they're all about the cash promos. Would be interesting to see their site traffic. Maybe they don't run them because there just aren't as many people frequenting their boards anymore.

I agree. I'm more willing to buy a vast array of boxes during other promos when the boxes are cheaper and there's a couple of good rewards, but the cash promos make boxes go up 10-20% in price with a less exciting rewards.

I've given up on BO putting any good promos anymore after they failed to even have the season long NFL promos like they used to.
Its not the same anymore like the good ole days.

Is this the first year that Blowout has done a trick or treat promo? I wonder how much junk they are going to trick people with? seems like a brilliant way to get rid of some real garbage, lol

I was wondering if a thread would get started about the Trick or Treat promo. At $100 for 2 items...I'm guessing there will be a lot of tricks.

I believe they use to have a list of boxes for the promo. Then would random them when it was full. Trying to search for it from past years. But can not find anything.

I miss the old Trick or Treat promos. We got a list ahead of time of all the available tricks and treats and then it was randomized. Those were fun. This mystery box thing is not my cup of tea. I’d like to know what was available at least. Also, I’d really only want baseball so even if I got a big treat and it were basketball it’d still be a trick to me. Maybe if they split it up by sport.

In case someone who works for Blowout Cards still reads these posts down here, is there ANY chance at free promos in the future or should you just rename the thread to not include (and other FREE giveaways!) in the title? I mean, you haven't run a free promo in probably 2 years now?

Wow, the entire NFL regular season is over in a week and a half and they didn't run a single free promotion, yet I was able to run one just using the cards I have laying around.

You guys used to be able to give away 17 boxes of cards each season. What gives? Now it's just "buy $200 worth of product so you can have a chance to win a box of cards from a sport you don't like that's worth half what you spent". I've tried the current promos once or twice and the only thing I ever "won" was a box of 2012-2013 Marquee Basketball. I don't even LIKE basketball AND I'm still trying to sell off two of the autographs from that box, and I think it only came with 3 or 4 autographs to start with. I won that box 2 or 3 years ago and nobody wants the Orlando Johnson or Jared Cunningham rookie autos I pulled from that crap.

I would just like to see the free promos that you used to run come back. It doesn't need to be all of them, just some would be nice. I remember the NFL promo with the leading rusher, receiver, and passer. There was the golf ones around the Masters. I believe there used to even be tennis ones.

Is it a free promotion or do I have to buy something to get added into the promotion?

We've been talking in this thread for months or years now about bringing back the free promotions that used to happen around here. This forum used to cater to ALL it's members, not just to the rich ones who can spend $1k-2k each month.
