Default I need help.. first time submitting to PSA...

Alright so I have a Luka Silver I’m sending in to PSA. Shipping portion on their site says that acrylics/toploaders/screwdown cases are not accepted. So I really can’t send this in a one-touch, then sleeved in a baggy? Just wanted to know if anyone has sent it in and it’s been fine. I don’t have any “card savers” that they are suggesting. But if I need to, I can just order some. Thanks.

You will want to send in using a card saver.

These will also come in handy if you do, or ever decide to, sell cards on Sportlots. You can get 2 cards in each and 4 in a PWE for the cost of a stamp, and possibly an additional oz stamp if the envelope is over 1 oz.

I've used card savers for all my submissions over the years and never an issue. Just package the cards up real well (double box, bubble wrap the cards, etc.). I would recommend however the card savers that are little bigger. They actually say "for graded card submissions". The other size that is smaller it can be difficult to get the cards in.

I use toploaders regularly and have not had an issue.

Does anyone know why they only accept card savers and don't accept toploaders, magnetics, etc.?

Card Saver 1's are the best way to prevent damage they say because toploaders make it harder to get a card in and out easily. PSA may also cut the card out of a card saver 1, but I believe that is not confirmed by PSA themselves. Magnetic's cause the card to move around and they get damaged microscopically during transit and storage while waiting to grade. One touches are not a good shipping protocol anyway.

I wouldn't buy from someone who shipped me two raw cards in one card saver, FWIW. I would consider that to be likely damaging to both cards and would be annoyed. If you consider that you would never send PSA 2 cards to grade in one card saver, it makes sense to not send that way to a buyer.

Do you not buy on SL? It is common practice on there and in 10 years with thousands of transactions, I've yet to get a complaint about there being 2 $.18 cards in a card saver.
