Default Topps A&G Chris Evans Redemption Question:Request Sub?

I don't do redemptions often but I did pick up the 2018 Topps Allen & Ginter Chris Evans and have been patiently waiting for it's release. When I checked today the status had changed to REQUEST SUB. Is this pretty much a sign that this card won't get made? Any idea as to what Topps would even use for subs? Do they give options or are you just stick with whatever they send? I apologize if this is a stupid question. All of my previous redemptions have been for Star Wars cards so they all came in eventually. This is my first experience with a request sub and I know that is done quite alot in the sport side so I was hoping for some insight. Thanks in advance.

No, its automatic and pops up after some allotted time - I have one I click for a sub every other day and absolutely nothing happens, so not even sure if it works. I would not do it with Chris Evans- he is an expensive autograph and I wonder if this is a strategy by Topps to get less signed....

Thanks for the fast response. Good to know that it is just something that pops up after an allotted amount of time and not a sign that the card won't get made. I am going to hold out for it.

I'm surprised how low these redemptions are going for ($200), his non-sport autographs are always in the $500-800 range

People are probably assuming it’s never going to be made

Not Chris Evans, but I got the "request sub" for my Gleyber Torres Topps Chrome redemption, then it shipped two weeks later.

I’m still kicking myself for not buying an Axl Rose redemption from 2012 Archives when literally no one thought they would be made.

You're wondering that this might be what they're up to?

Yep, I think Topps holds out on some super premium autos due to the price of the signers
