Glad it's DJLM and not Dozier... Kinda worried about how good his offense will be outside of Coors, he's not a power hitter and the average/OBP has dropped significantly each of the past few years. GG defense though and doesn't strike out much. Will be interesting to follow

Hope this means the Yanks are out of the Machado race.

This is absolute best case scenario for the Yanks!
Save the Machado money, get LeMahieu and another Starter.

Cashman wins again!

I hate this signing. Guy batted something like .229 outside Coors last year. Yanks also are already too right handed.

Wonder if this means Harper. Doubt it, but still curious.

Read an article on his status just this morning. The word Yankees was not in it.

I predict a huge drop in batting average. Not much of a bold statement either.

This guy’s agent really got over on the Yanks. 24 million reported. Wow. I suppose next to the Ellsbury contract anything looks genius, though.

I suppose the question now is, does this mean Gleyber slides to short— and if so, who plays third: Andujar or Machado?

I like the signing because wont be a machado signing most likely and I think that would be a waste of resources. He played poor last year but has a solid track record. He does well - torres shifts to SS till didi is back and we have some extra depth and a trade piece in either Didi or DJ (if Didi is back before the deadline) - I hope they keep didi long term with torres at 2b but you never know.

Could also look at Lamahieu being able to give andujar some days off as well as his def is awful and LaMahieu has been able to play some 3b in his days pretty well. Could see him doing 10-20 games there once didi is back and being able to give didi/torres/andujar and DJ days off for rest if they are in playoff contention keep everyone fresh or ride the hot bat.

Not thrilled - but like the singing

You really think this is a bad signing? Low risk/high reward. It’s 2 years for almost no money.

With LeMahieu and Dozier out of the Rockies picture...looks like it'll be a Spring Training battle between Brendan Rodgers and Garrett Hampson for 2B.

I truly hate this signing. Take a look at the trend of his numbers over the past 3 years. It ain't pretty. Since when Yanks are acting like a small market team??? $12 mil a year is not "nothing". They could have used that money for either Machado or Harper. I feel like we added another Neil Walker/Ellsbury

Real good signing, was hoping the dodgers would land him.

I'm curious to see how Machado cards sell now. So many sellers were asking for the moon thinking he will go to Yankees. I thought about buying his 2010 Bowman Chrome Refractor PSA 10 Auto but glad now that I didn't pay up.

You do realize that this guy signed a 2-year, $24 million with the Rockies, right?????

Why do the Yankees want their whole line up to be right handed when the right field porch is 200 feet away?

I don't like anything about this signing. I am really curious what they saw here that warranted $24m. 229/277/422 away from Coors. I imagine he would have been on the market in a few weeks and willing to take less. If this was the decision why not add Murphy or Lowrie who were both around the same price?

If this takes them out of the Machado conversation, no Harper trick is up their sleeve and they aren't trading for one of the available aces this offseason is a baffling failure.

Really? Seems pretty fair to me. Schoop got 1 year/$7.5 million, Dozier got 1 year/$9 million, Lowrie just got 2 years/$20 million. Seems right in line
