Default 2016 Panini Honors Recollection Auto's

*Please post yours if you want. Would love to see them!

I have bid on a few and my twin brother gave me this for my B-day yesterday.

I thought these were suppose to be buy backs but I am reading now re-release is what they call it so they had an extra or extra's of these as they pack out most of the plates I guess?

RECOLLECTION COLLECTION
Look for previously released memorabilia cards from years past, updated with on-card autos! Look for previously released autograph cards from years past, featuring hand numbering and embossed with the exclusive recollection collection logo!

They had originally called them Buybacks, but I think once people saw that they were cards that should be LOW numbered and weren't numbered at all they changed their tune. More than likely they had a few sitting around as replacements and just figured they could make some more money off of them. We had some lengthy conversations on here about this very thing when it first came out.

Damn short memory I guess I remember the discussion now. Was looking at buying a Stafford Honors NT Patch/Auto with out numbering at that time! I got out bid though....

The odd thing about the "Recollection Collection" name is that Panini occasionally uses it to refer to the actual buybacks in products like 2016 and 2017 Classics. They don't use it in marketing materials or on their own site - they're labeled as "Buybacks" on their official checklist - but the cards themselves have a "Recollection Collection" stamp.

I almost missed the stamp. I had to hold it up close under a light and move it around to find it. Really hard to see in the "Superfractor" pattern.

Very nice! Barry Sanders has a bunch in this stuff I need to start looking for. I have been trying to get a couple Stafford's so far but outbid. Missed a couple sweet BIN's though buying other Stafford's

I only own one. I'm not a fan of the Honors concept, but had to own this one to add to my ever growing Bucs HOF PC.

I like some of the ones that weren't Auto'd before. I went after a Crusade and an 2013 NT Jumbo Patch that hadn't been auto'd previously. I think there is potential for fakes as we saw already. I am not a huge fan of altering the Auto cards that were previously made already though.

I have always considered the term buy back to not really mean they bought back cards, and more just a concept. Like in all the Topps buybacks...some from just a couple years before becoming buy backs. There is a good chance many of those cards never left Topps. Same with UD when they did such.

Are those stickers actually tamper-poof? Not questioning authenticity necessarily, but I'm not sure they are.

My stamp is very faint/hard to see. You tired turning it in the light to see if it's like that?

I have two, both have the 2016 Honors stamp, which is fairly light. The 2000 Pen Pals also have the Donruss autograph stamp.

2000 Donruss Preferred QBC Pen Pals #PP25 Phil Simms 2016 Panini Honors Recollection 4/5

2007 Donruss Classics Saturday Stars Jerseys #25 Marcus Allen 2016 Panini Honors Recollection 2/9

Cursory search on Beckett returns nothing. I'd be inclined to send it back barring evidence of it on a checklist.

i have some duals that are legit but this card has too many red flags for it to be an honors card

That's one they had pre-signed from Donruss in their vault. Are there any duals that they had signed themselves (e.g. from more recent products/cards that weren't originally resealed with signatures)?
