Also, lately I've really been into Mastodon's "Blood and Thunder" and Brandi Carlile's new album, "By the Way, I Forgive You".

Also, Gotye's "Making Mirrors" is a masterpiece.

I'm all over the place.

I absolutely detest Foo Fighters. Especially since people are convinced they are the band holding up rock n roll. If they are the band just let it die.

Yes!
Silversun Pickups are such a good band. I’ve liked every album they’ve ever come out with.
Neck of the Woods is my personal favorite

I don’t watch these things but I’m glad to hear Childish Gambino received some much deserved love for This is America.

The Foo Fighters are like the Mister Rogers of Rock and Roll.

Even if you don’t “like” them, how in the world do you “detest” them???

That’s like saying Spider-Man is the most garbage of all superheroes.

Foo Fighters are like pop rock. They’ve done very well for themselves so congrats to them for making a ton of money and being very popular. When someone says they like rock music like Foo fighters, I just smile. But they make terrible music.

Yikes. The Colour and the Shape is a fantastic album. Like, almost every song.

And I am NOT a Foo Fighters apologist. Every album they've made in the last 10 years have like maybe two good songs on it, and the rest is garbage. But the early stuff? First album, with songs like "This is a Call" and "X-Static"? The best.

trivium is pretty awesome.

I love the people who just "detest" "loath" "hate" all new music

Every single decade these people are around. Every generation every decade has #@#@#@#@ music

You just gotta dig to find the good stuff sometimes just like cards. 99% is crap 1% is the good stuff. Though in the same line of thinking that 99% of crap some people enjoy thats why its there.

The songs rhythmic arrangement is cool... but then he starts talking. I guess they have to give someone the Grammy though and it's probably no worse than the competition.

Reading this has me thinking that it has been too long since I brought out the first couple of albums from Black Country Communion. They've got a hard 70's rock edge to them. Think Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.

The Grammy's is a spectacular showcase for music from all genres, since all the artists perform live. I think Janelle Monae stole the show tonight, but it really was one excellent performance after another including standouts Dua Lipa w/ St. Vincent, Lady Gaga on a more rocking version of "Shallow", Brandi Carlile with the incredible "The Joke", and J. Lo, of all people, with the big Motown tribute. There was also a tribute to Dolly Parton, with Dolly herself leading it, her voice in top form. Alicia Keys did a medley of other people's songs while playing two different pianos, and was magnificent. She should host every year.

If you consider yourself a fan of "rock" music and not just "rock music produced by 5 specific bands," then you ought to check them out.
Vincent Accardi bought my parent's old house and horse property a few years ago. He has since completely re-done the house, and built a few yurts on the property. As far as I know, Vinnie and my Dad still keep in touch. True story.
