I know the odds are the worst they have ever been, but as a guy that buys retail or 1-2 hobby boxes of Heritage a year this is so discouraging. At least last year when I spent $100+ on a hobby box I could look forward to hitting at least an action card.

Guess what that tells me is to stick with singles and try and build the set through retail being happy with whatever SP and anything else I can get.

I'm going to pick up my two boxes of Heritage today from my LCS and I have this same feeling. I really look forward to my annual Heritage hobby rip but I often feel like I have to buy a case to get any value.

Oh well. Maybe I'll get lucky

On a box by box basis, it is risky. I had one hobby box in my case with all Base SP’s and a Relic. That’s it

If it makes you feel better, I only did 2 Boxes this Year (normally do a case+) and did pull a Gold Gleyber Ref - so its still possible to get a big hit from a small amount of wax!

2 Black Ref /70
1 Red Ink Auto /70 (Dillman)
Almost perfect collation on SPs and Inserts (only had 3 of two SPs)

I don't expect that easy of a break again ever.

Houdini pulled this beaut for me last night. How would everyone rank this dual auto compared to any previous duals trout/Ohtani have together? I.e. topps now, definitive, bowman best, etc?

NICE HIT!!! IMO at the top of the List. The other autos seem to have a much more limited "fan base" but this card also isn't an Ohtani RC like the others

I placed 2 orders with MLBshop.com last week one for 15 boxes and one for 2 boxes. I received the 2 box order and the 15 box is still pending. Anybody else have issues with Fanatics/MLBshop about their Heritage order not shipping. Customer Service is an absolute waste.

Thanks, probably my best hit yet. I also feel like with it being Heritage, it would trump most others. I don’t believe they’ve had a dual heritage card yet.

I think Topps is diluting the product because, quite frankly, they can. Every year there are more and more people getting (back) into cards who have no clue to what the product was years ago (in terms of hits).I went from buying 1 box of 2016, to one case of 2017, to two cases of 2018, and while this year I stuck to two cases I plan on buying a lot of retail as that's where I did best last year

Yes. Topps knows heritage will always be a huge hit, so they print a very large amount of it. By most accounts, it sounds like the print run was up 30% over last year. Next year it could be up another 20-30% and people will still buy because it's such an iconic product.



Not slamming anyone for buying as it's a beautiful product. And I like to make a killing on singles on ebay

Bought 1 blaster from Target this morning. 2nd pack in I got this Zobrist patch and figured that would be it for the box.



Opened pack 3 and couldn't believe what I found:

Was in a break last night and absolutely brutal. The only good thing was there were 3 autos in the case, best being Chris Sale, but that's about as good as this case got. I think 5-6 actions variations, but no other variations at all, nor any gold refractors, black refractors, flip stock, etc. It was a brutal case overall.

Emailed the customer service twice already, but with no response.
Thinking about calling them today.

I almost grabbed some but didn't as it said on the product page of when it would actually ship (was like April 5th when I looked)- maybe this is the issue? (They may just not have it yet)

Had A's and Padres in 6 box 1/2 case break last night , got a few purple a Khris Davis scratch off and a ton of base lol , there was a purple box obviously , a good amount of action sp's , no french from what breaker said , ton of high #'s , mystery auto A was pulled , few low end relics and I probably won't get but a 1/3 of my money back but it was a good break overall

Also noticing case breakers are asking substantially more for your typical SP/Action/Variation card at opening compared to recent years. Unsure if this is due to value dilution from the presses being cranked making the case breakers incentivized to squeeze more value out of their hits or what.

In 2017, I picked up ~10 Trout Actions between $20-$30 each, many in the $25/$26 range.

2019 Trout's with increases presses should settle sub $20. Current asking prices are multiple factors above that. Will be interesting to see market dynamics over the coming weeks to see if those asking very high prices are missing out by not striking while the iron is hot.
