Congrats on the card. Given the latest prices on the PSA 10s, I think you got a hell of a deal.

A lot of Giannis Silvers have the dot in that spot. Just a few weeks ago at the Tristar I saw a few of them all graded Gem with that spot.

I can’t see the dot. But if it’s a chrome surface dot, those don’t affect the surface grade unless they splay.

I think this is a solid point that a lot of people are underestimating or not even considering - the "likability" factor of Giannis.

We all know about the all-star votes, but now that he's getting a lot more national media attention, the stories about him, especially earlier in his career are coming out, such as how he was sending almost all of his money back to his family in Greece and how he was ready to quit the NBA and move back to Greece if his family didn't get green cards. Dude just seems like a real down-to-earth guy that values family and works extremely hard.

I've seen criticisms of Giannis & his game, mostly around his jump shot (which is improving by leaps and bounds) but I haven't really seen a lot of people make negative comments about him otherwise. The same can't be said about Durant, Harden, Westbrook, hell even Lebron who have a ton of people out there that dislike them and/or the way they play for a myriad of reasons.

I have a small stash of Giannis that I bought in very early on...nothing big though...no RPA's. I have some base Prizm which are going through the roof now, an NT on card Greece rookie auto /60 because I liked the aesthetics of if, and a couple Select rookie purple Prizms (Draft Edition). The one I do have that I'm not sure where it will rank is the retro PMG red. I have two copies that I'm planning on passing down to my two youngest boys. D Rose is and always will be my favorite player, but Giannis has become my 2nd....

As for auto patch cards, I have been picking up a few 2nd and 3rd year cards as I feel that in time those are going to explode as his Rookie RPA's and autos become untouchable for the average collector....plus I love the idea of having a card with game worn material versus player worn....it's a no brainer for me considering the pricing differences.

I have 5 kids, but only my two youngest will appreciate cards, so they will be the recipient of some very nice stuff from me

I'm a fan on the Retro PMG as well. It seems that after some time went by, people are embracing the Retro cards. I know of a couple of BO members who are hoarding certain players.

Retro's swing has been unreal. It started hotter than fire then dropped through the floor and it's definitely made a resurgence in the past few years.

Those NT /60 are awesome. Picked up a 2012 Exquisite XRC BGS 9.5 back in the day instead of one of those and kind of regretting it now. Still a nice card, but not going to appreciate like the NT.

Now I think it's common knowledge. But a few years ago, it wasn't. They all have the same problem yet you can find grades between 9.5 and 7.5. That's why I think that card is a steal - it's like a "soft" 9.5 for a few hundreds more than a raw.

That's a tough one. I'll say yes just because the risk/reward of it makes it worthy. But you'll be better off asking someone who's had more experience that I do when it comes to grading cards.

FWIW, I'm cracking my 8.5 (Surface 7.5) and resending it to BGS in the next few weeks.

Does anyone have an insight on the value of the 2013 Prizm Gold Giannis in relation to the Gold Auto?

Would it be considered more valuable than the auto, less valuable, by how much?

Amazing a sticker sells for $22K. How in the world has an Exquisite on card true rookie parallel /3 not sold for $18K in a PSA 10 holder?
