Default International Shipping on eBay

I have seen tips on international shipping around here, but couldn't find the answer to my exact question, so figured I'd ask anyways.

I recently made my first sale to someone located in Canada. He messaged me after payment and told him that the shipping price in my listing did not reflect how much the eBay Global Shipping program charged him (~$15 for shipping, ~$15 for customs fees). Is there a way to ship internationally (to Canada at least, if not everywhere) for cheaper than this with tracking, and if not, how do I get my listings to represent the true shipping price through eBay Global?

GSP or nothing. There are other services out there but its up to the buyer to find them. In those cases they buyer it and have it shipped to the service and they forward it. The same as the GSP.

As far as I know the full shipping price is shown to the buyer before hand. I know I can see it if a buyer makes an offer for an item that will be shipped to them.

He's full of it. I'm from Canada, and unless he has a US address, it will show the shipping and import fees on the ebay listing.

Okay, thanks to both of you for the info. Thought it was weird but was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt since it was my first time. Will keep going with GSP moving forward.

Default International

When you switch to the new eBay payment system you won't use Global Shipping.

Is managed payments right for me?
What to expect at initial launch for:
Shipping
When you ship internationally, you ship it on your own, rather than using eBay’s Global
Shipping Program. You will still pay for USPS labels using PayPal.
