Really thought Gasol was going to give Embiid nightmares like Horford did last year..... those might be the two toughest matchups for embiid in the league.

And yet, Philly pulled it out. Good for them. That’s a quality win. Their best five is really talented.

I think the game plan was definitely to use Butler more.

Simmons took Kawhi almost the entire game, he's gonna get his anyway, that gave Butler more juice for the offense.

Smart move.

Can the Raps get a win in Philly? I'll be pretty impressed if Philly beat Toronto.

Wow, didn't realize Toronto only has 15 bench points in the two games so far. Not going to win with that productivity.

Jokic coming alive now, they need to keep this intensity up!

It's obvious that was the game plan. Have Simmons D up Kawhi and sacrifice his offense while you makes things easier on Butler so he can score.

Ben definitely couldn't shut Kawhi down, but those 10 less points that Leonard scored on the same amount of shots as Game 1 was the difference between an win and a loss.

Meanwhile, Butler was able to take 10 more shots and score 20 more points in Game 2.

What a horrible game by the raps. First half was terrible. Shots just weren’t falling and giving up too many offensive rebounds. The team seemed to lack effort and philly wanted it more. Didn’t see the sixers bench out playing our bench this series but they have. Especially tonight. Quality minutes by Monroe and ennis. Butler was determined to win this game and it showed. Kudos to philly for frustrating our offence in the first half. We just couldn’t get a rhythm. Let’s get focused for game three in philly.

Which is funny, because everyone (including myself), thought they had the big advantage off the bench, especially with Mike Scott out.

that Harris reverse is one of the most ridiculous lay-ups I've ever seen, and coming off that Jokic pass - that was just ridic.

Blazers still keeping it within reach for the 4th...typical Dame time.

Wondering if fatigue will be a factor with that altitude.

Malone's biggest weakness is stopping runs / plugging in the right pieces to do so. Why is Torrey Craig not back in the game? No idea. Yeah he has 4 fouls but with no Jokic/Murray on the court you have to stop the opposition, and it's the 4th quarter in a game you need to win.

There we go, timeout and immediately plugged Jokic back in, and then Murray shortly after. Maybe he can learn after all! Nice to see Plumlee showing signs of life finally too.

Good run for the nuggets. But that flagrant call on cj was completely laughable.

Completely incidental. He was driving for a layup and had the ball low about to bring it up above his shoulders. CJ made a valid swipe at where the ball would have theoretically been most of the time for an offensive player in that position.

Are you in his head?

He missed. Like a soccer player who attempts a tackle, misses, and spikes the opposing player. If he hit the ball first ... no flagrant (yellow card). But he whiffed.

He got swatted in the face. That's a flagrant nowadays. CJ didn't even touch the ball.

Nice win for Denver tonight, they just gotta keep it up. A win Wednesday would be huge because Portland will be nails at home.

We need a win Wednesday then steal one in Portland. Over in 5.

Gary is the king of those crazy reverse layups but that was just about the best one I’ve seen from him.

Jokic averages so far: 25-12-9 on 50/37/90 shooting and only 1.7 TO/g

Blazers had too much time off. Nuggets may have been a little worn out by SA, but they were in basketball mode tonight.

Crazy.

Ben showed why he is a top 10 NBA player when he's locked in on D. At least 3 of the Kawhi shots made over him were incredibly difficult with no time on the shot clock.

Kawhi just inhaled every other defender and is literally shooting over 77% against Sixers not named Ben Simmons. 76ers would be swept without Ben's great Defense.

Toronto scores 18pts/100 fewer with Ben on Kawhi. That, plus Jimmy Buckets of course, was the difference in the game.

For Philly to get a road win with JoJo at like 50% capacity was huge.

Houston's gotta be thrilled....Scott Foster (who reffed Game 7 against the Warriors last year) and who Houston hates, is part of the crew assigned to Game 2.

I'm sure he's going to be feeling mighty generous towards Houston tonight after the Rocket's public reaming of the Game 7 referee crew he was a part of last year...

Oops....this is when whining about the refs incessantly starts to backfire...

And as a note to conspiracy theorists, he was assigned this game before the series started, not after Game 1....
