For all of us who’ve actually laced up spikes in our life, we know sometimes it’s a very small thing that breaks you out of a funk. A key at bat where you scratch out a bloop hit. A couple walks. Sometimes it can be just something dumb that makes you rediscover the Joy. Heck, before an at bat a teammate makes you laugh by making fun of some doofus eating cracker jacks in the third row and suddenly you’re a kid again and raking.

Getting on all four ABs is a nice day. Could be meaningless could open the floodgates. Time will tell.

Today may have been all Vlad Jr. needed to get going. He’s been making contact, just not solid contact. I’m looking forward to his next game.

I hope so. I want him to excel so that ppl don't forget that this is a fat man's sport. Some of the greatest hitters in the history of this game have had beer guts. We need to keep this going.

I agree. You don’t need speed and you don’t need to be in CrossFit shape to play baseball. Good players come in all shapes and sizes. Most of those who say he isn’t going to be good because “he’s overweight,” have probably never played competitive ball in their life.

Dude's seeing the ball very well. One of the walks was an 0-2 count that he worked into a walk. Hopefully this game was a turning point.

Very nice game indeed. He is too talented to stay down for long. Hopefully in a short period of time we will have Vlad, Soto, & Acuna all raking.
