I think his 3(+?) rings, Finals MVP (even though LBJ should've won it), and USA runs (2 golds) are good enough to get him in. Plus he is generally liked in basketball circles. Does he deserve to be in? Probably not. But all of those things go a long way with the BBHOF.

Haha I’m not disagreeing that he doesn’t have the numbers. I just won’t be surprised if he gets in. The hall will most certainly over value his MVP (youngst to win it) and the gold medals as you mentioned. Remember it’s the basketball hall of fame. You could go as far as including high school accomplishments to back the argument (mr. Illinois, McDonald’s all-American). I don’t think he’s hall worthy but I won’t be surprised if he gets in. Haha the way the MVP is valued it’s essentially a paid ticket to Springfield, I don’t agree with it but it seems like it’s the way it is

Man.. if he's a Hall of Famer, basketball's HOF standards are laughably low.

Yes, they already are.

Make no mistake, I'm a fan of his. He's the guy I wanted Philly to take with the #9 pick in the 2004 Draft, and they did. But HOF and Iguodala together is crazy to me.

I agree. I also think the same thing about RIP. Ben always seemed like a longshot to me, but I never even considered RIP. For them being such an amazing team that everyone wants to look back on, they only won one title in a time when the league was undergoing a pretty big transition.

But then again, I might just be a salty Pacers fan, so who knows.

Although, he did a lot outside the nba so i think he gets it.
Has any mvp fallen off harder than rose?

Melo is a no-doubter for me.

Jack Sikma and Sydney Moncrief pretty much put the nail in that coffin.

Disagree. If guys like Marbury, Webber, Ben Wallace, Hamilton and Iggy get in, then I’ll change my mind. They all belong in the Hall of Very Good.

Howard and Melo will get in. Rose, man. Don’t think so.

Do you think Bobby Jones' defense was HOF worthy?

I don't think anything about Ben Wallace in particular is Hall of Very good, imo. Hall of fame all the way.

Melo and Dwight Howard are 100% going into the HOF. I'm not sure how there could be any question about them. Ben Wallace too for that matter. Iggy will probably get in but I wouldn't be shocked nor upset if he didn't.

It's the basketball Hall of Fame. Not he NBA HOF, not the USA basketball HOF. What he's accomplished for the sport of basketball in China is on the legendary side. Aside from his personal accomplishments, he changed the way international basketball was played in China. He is 1st ballot.

Iguodala in the HOF has made me laugh so hard in this day of serious threads about BGS10’s etc...

Thanks for that

Chauncey Billups, Tim Hardaway, Shawn Kemp, Kevin Johnson, Penny Hardaway and Chris Webber will actually get in the hall of fame I think. Ben Wallace and Amare Stoudemire maybe too. Dwight Howard is a lock.
