Yikes. This is getting to be pretty serious when high profile publications are picking up on the story.

The fact that the NY Times picked it up is eye-opening! Wonderful read IMO.

Crazy! Some BO members have started something potentially huge. Good work by all those members

Well if an article in the NYT doesn't get the attention of BGS and PSA, nothing will. Not a good look for PWCC at all not making any comment.

I agree it's not a good look, but I'm betting they won't comment because they are under federal investigation.

Unrelated, but when I click on the article, it shows my Jo Adell 9.5/10 ebay listing inbedded as an ebay ad after the first few paragraphs.

Anyone else see this or was it just targeted to me?

You got to love the person that named a tracking "device" something as innocuous as "cookie".

Whatever it is, you know what I mean. It’s targeted to him regardless. The NY Times isn’t pimping his auction. Sorry Mr. Tech.

Edit: sorry Nole, misinterpreted your post

Since someone has been prosecuted and charged with fraud with doing this in the past then there is legal groundwork to pursue the current "collectors" that are trimming cards today. There really should be a large "sting" in the work by the authorities this is huge fraud on a large scale to make millions. In all honesty the FBI should be contacted since it's across many states. People might think it's just a hobby but in fact these guys are scamming people for millions, it's FRAUD.

I love how Gary Moser blasted PSA. I predict this will not end well for him, on all fronts.

I believe he was referring to the original person who named it a "cookie", not your use of the correct term.

I love how he said it depends on the grader you get. I’m sure he would know a lot about this, if it’s an inside job at PSA pushing his crap through.

Heritage really dodged a bullet there. Reporter mistakenly attributes the original Mantle to PWCC. Haha I don't feel bad for them but I would have liked to see Heritage take a spanking too.

Can't wait to see PWCC's biggest win of the company's history: brand new pairs of bracelets for Brentsy & Gar-Gar!

I am glad the author was able to coax the trimmer out of hiding to get a quote. Well written article.

New York Times subscription is expensive but more than worth it. Incredible writing.
