Missing game winner and missing many key shots for many years in the finals.

I don't see it how you do at all. I see a guy who averages 20+ ppg while a team played a box and 1 and took a better team to 6 games completely undermanned. They beat Houston without KD. Hell of a run and he had some monster games this series. I see Klay as equally impressive.

When it's all said in done he'll be considered the best shooter in NBA history, a multiple NBA champion, one of the most popular players in the world and a first ballot hall of famer with a better career than about 99% of people who have ever played this game. I think he'll be just fine.

His legacy has always been the best shooter of all time, he doesn't need to be clutch like Jerry West or Larry Bird. I don't see what they stain is, being a top 20 player all time instead of a top 10? He will always be an all time great, coming from a player who wasn't recruited by any major schools and was passed over by 5 teams for lesser players, I would say that is a pretty good legacy to have.

To me this is a bit exaggerated.

Curry didn't beat Houston without KD. They played one game and one quarter without KD, not the entire series. That warriors team is without KD is still good enough to beat any team in the NBA for one game which is what they did. Curry had a crazy second half in that game to end the series. It was a great game by him, but he had a poor series overall. No way the Warriors beat Houston if KD was out from the beginning of the series. KD was averaging like 35ppg before he left towards the end of the 3rd in game 5.


The Raptors played box and 1 for maybe 18-20 minutes total in the series, in game 2 and game 6 4th quarters. The fact that it kept working after game 2 is more of an issue with Kerr and his coaching staff to not counter it. To say Toronto was the better team is a bit of a reach as most people were expecting the Warriors to win the series before game 1 tipped off. Curry wasn't completely undermanned either. KD was not there but the rest of the team was until game 3. This same team just swept the Blazers in the WCF too. Game 3 yes Curry was leading an undermanned Warriors team and came up short, but the series overall I did not think the Warriors were undermanned. Even game 3 sitting Klay was a team decision and he said he wanted to play. But I would say talent wise the Raptors and Warriors were about even in this series once KD was not playing.

He repeatedly made the right play (typically a pass) last night, unfortunately they didn't have the firepower on the wings to knock down shots like the usually do.

The Raptors double teamed, triple teamed, blitzed, everything imaginable to get it out of his hands so I'm not sure what people expected against the best defense in the league with no Klay or KD...

Also, the Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard only had 1 more point than Curry last night, so are we going to be critical of Kawhi as well? No were not, because his was the better team that won the game.

I see where u going OP, I don’t have him in a whole different stratosphere like a lot of people on here or the media darling that they portray him to be in general. Interesting stat I saw is that Curry is now 0-8 on go-ahead shots with less than 0:20 in NBA Playoff career. When someone is the claimed “greatest shooter” ever , I would like to say I want it to include the Finals as well if they were fortunate to played in them. , Ray Allen has missed many shots but he made that one that people will remember forever , Reggie never was in the Finals and missed lot of shots but he had his New York playoff run and lots will remember the made shots.
Him being a PG ,I just don’t have the feel that he will control a game, the series , etc ..once those circus 3 pointers don’t fall then what I want to see is make difference on the defensive side or playmaking side to overcome the adversity and he has not when it was needed especially in this series .When I saw him play in Davidson i saw a great shooter but not one that I could imagine be a MVP of the league 2 times , I think he has overachieved for his career so far . Kerr’s system is what made it work for Steph , to me he is just a one dimensional player that doesn’t have the intangibles to carry a team overall on both sides of the ball and will them to a Finals victory like a lot of previous real great players have done and that’s ok , I didn’t expect him to .When Durant was out I figured it was going to be Klay be that one to fill in that role to carry the team not Steph because of what I saw in the past Finals years.
