Yup...and people bash these cards. This concept and cards are killing it. Yes not a Mantle card but big money buys these cards. So turn those frowns upside-down!

We see even the biggest critics admitting that they are buying hundreds of dollars worth of relics. The concept is still strong.

What is silly is that someone would pay $50 for any of these base cards. That’s not helping someone get into Now by fleecing them on a common card.

It’s not fleecing them...it’s getting a decent price for what I think the card is worth. If someone had it cheaper they would have it up for sale...they don’t so the late guy pays. You want cards for cheap go to Walmart

I'm kinda surprised to see how unpopular the Pete Alonso sock relics are (and all other players' sock relics in general).
All his autos are sold out, but for sock relic, only the /49 and 1/1 are sold out.
I actually think these relic cards with MLB authentication represents the Topps Nowness better, and I like these ideas.
But I guess the price is too high for collectors who are used to seeing relic cards sell for dirt cheap on ebay.

I'm not buying it, but if you like the idea or design, go for it.
I don't think there is much "value" in it though.
It's just a collector's set to enjoy.

I think people may want to purchase but price is too high for just a sock relic. I took a look at Judge's sock relic and there was a /49 that sold for under $50 last month. I was trying to remember what Judge's sock relics sold for originally and I am sure it was well under today's prices. I believe it may have been around $50 for /49. edit(Just checked and it was originally $99.99 for the /49 sock.)

It's interesting, the auto sock relics /10 in gypsy queen go for several hundred. I don't care that it's a packed out set unlike NOW, they are using the same relics. I know the auto helps their value too. I'm very happy to have had the opportunity to buy an awesome piece from last night of my guy!

Almost all of those are "made to order", and 20-count bundles of each card, (at least), is what I bought in the past. Included with those, I have also stopped buying most autographed and relic offerings. But those sell out anyway, so me not buying doesn't matter much.

Topps can earn my trust back. But they'll truly have to earn it. These mistakes have to be much fewer and much further in between.

I stopped buying everything this year, with the exception of Living Set and Topps Total. My spending this year on on-line products is on target for maybe $2K, after being 5 digits the last two years.

They've just worn me out with a unsecure website, followed by a crappy/glitchy website.

Now I try to continue my living set with 3 sets including the checklists - and they send 6 checklist 2 and no checklist 1. Now I have to deal with Topps customer service hell to straighten out this mess.

Topps Total is great if you don't care about centering.

They apparently feel no need to post COTM print runs any longer.

I really haven't missed the other stuff I stopped buying - maybe 1-200 is all I go on living as well. This is supposed to be a release from real life - their inability to do things correctly makes it too hard to continue doing business with them.

I'm not sure what they can do to get my trust back - I've been collecting for over 50 years, maybe it is just time to cull stuff and downsize the collection.

PS - I have bought a few 20 packs of Now cards - I get points that are only good on Now - so I use the coupons periodically and will sell the cards.

I was so concentrated on the HR Derby cards that I forgot to buy the Trout card from yesterday, which ended up having PR of only 326.
I regret this so much, as I was basically buying 1 each of Topps Now Trout cards this year...

I usually don't make too much noise about low PRs, because I think that just means the card wasn't seen as a desirable by the collectors, but low PR of Trout should bring almost definite upside.
