I guess I will add my two cents because I think I still have a few friends in this hobby and wanted to comment before I sign off for good..

Am I mad at Andrew? Hell No!!
Am I mad at the colts? F**k yeah!!!

Like I mentioned in another thread, the Colts didn’t deserve Andrew Luck.. All of us fans have been preaching for years that they need to protect 12 and look what happened . They did the same #@#@#@#@ with Manning but we he was able to get rid of the ball much quicker than Luck in his early stages of his career.

Now , the colts have done something that I never thought was possible, and that is ruin my love for the game, just like they did with Andrew. No I’m not going off the deep end because of all the money I have invested in him,, I was never into collecting cardboard for financial gain- yeah it would be nice but not my intention- for one of many reasons I collected Luck because I had the pleasure of meeting him numerous times outside of football and the dude was a class act, always tried to make time to sign autographs and talk with the fans. Never someone you had to worry about if he was going to pop up on the news with a domestic dispute or whatever , a football player kids could look up to ..

Now I really have nothing to look forward too since I am so jaded right now, anyone that knows me knows that I’m a huge colts fan, but how long can someone stay in a relationship when they are constantly being lied to and led on so that they can sell all their tickets and what not... I guess I am also mentally drained.

This one hurts ....

But this team has some real talent that doesn't come close to anything we saw when Ryan Grigson and Chuck Pagano were running the clown show. We have real leads like Chris Ballard and Frank Reich. We have a top notch offensive line with playmakers at all three "Skill" positions. We have an All-Pro leader at LB and a crowded defensive backfield with a lot of young talent. Add Justin Houston to the mix and improved pass rushers and I don't see this team laying down for anyone. I'm sad for Luck, but still very excited for the future.

After how the fans treated Luck walking off the field booing him I hope they go 0-16 this year the fans would deserve to sit through a season like that.

Lots of players even calling out their fans saying they are disgusting for how they treated Luck.

I dont think the crowd left in the building of a preseason game that everyone knew starters wouldnt play is indicative of the whole fan base.

Colts still win the division for a playoff spot

It does hurt but I believe in the rest of the team and I hope eventually you will again too. And thankfully the same decision makers who created this situation arent in the building anymore. This is a good team that i still have high hopes for.

I'm not mad at anyone. At the end of the day I just watch the games. But it'll probably be a while before I'm not bummed out that 12 isn't on the field.

Yeah a few fans left at a PRESEASON game is a reflection of the Colts fan base

Maybe we should treat him how the Pack treated Favre

We don’t all act the same way. In fact, many of us have been quite vocal on social media about how disrespectful we felt that was to Luck. I invite you to try not limping an entire group of people based on the attitudes of a select number of people.

I don't think this current team could tank if they wanted to. They're too good even without Luck.

Favre retired then 3-4 months later wanted to unretired and be handed starting job back when told no made sure he went to the Packers biggest rival to stick it to GB. Luck just retired big difference. Wonder how fans would react if Luck in 1-2 years wants to come back but Colts are happy with Jacoby and are all in on him.

No way. They are good enough everywhere to finish middle of the pack even if Jacoby doesn’t play well. I expect Brissett will start the first 2-3 games shaky and then realize how good the line is in front of him. I bet this team will shock a lot of people.

I'm guessing this gets done in the next couple days. Not sure if they'll prioritize it prior to tomorrow night's game or not. It's the final pre-season game so they may just wait until after the game to make it official. Not like he's going to play in the game after being signed for 24 hours.

Looking for a QB that has some experience in real games to hold the clipboard for Jacoby until week 3. Chad Kelly will end up being the QB2 by week 3 once he's back from suspension.

Im sick of this argument. You have to take what happened in context. While the game was going on the news got leaked that Luck announced his retirement without giving reasons why obviously because there had not been a press conference yet, which was originally scheduled for the following day. Up till this point there was no indication that anything like this was even a possibility. So when the news broke with no reasoning why, it was like a punch in the gut to all Colts fans 2 weeks before the season starts and with real Super Bowl Aspirations. Im sure that there will be another send off in Indy and most Real fans have no ill will toward Luck and his decision now that we have more facts on why he made this decision. The original reaction was a gut reaction to the very disappointing news and im sure those fans probably felt betrayed in that moment not only by Luck but the organization as well. I was not there and was not apart of that reaction but I can only assume that fans of any team would initially react in the same way given the same circumstances.

But but Chad Kelly!! Haha I think it’s hilarious that none of the sports world (outside maybe local Indianapolis sports) is even mentioning Kelly as a potential backup lol. Only seems to be people on these boards that are holding his cards. If guys like weeden and osweiler are being brought in as potential backups there is no hope for Kelly lol.

He played for the Jets the year after the Packers didn’t he? And he never played for the Bears that I recall.

Not exactly. Kelly has to serve a two game suspension, which means he can't be on the active roster for week one and two. Phillip Walker has done little to keep a roster spot that isn't practice squad. The veterans being brought it could be a short term fix until Kelly comes off of his suspension, or if the Colts decide to stash Kelly away, which could support your conclusion.

All of this. Kelly being out the first 2 weeks is the only reason these veteran QBs are being brought in. If they do decide to sign one of those guys I would almost guarantee they will be gone after week 2. Kelly has been great in pre-season and for a large part of training camp. He's exactly what they should hope for as a backup, a young guy with potential going forward. Brissett has been the understudy to Tom Brady and Andrew Luck, we're going to find out pretty quickly if his untapped potential meant anything. I would bet money that if Brissett flops, they would rather see what they've got in Kelly than to have Brock Osweiler or Brandon Weeden trying to steer the ship and end up with a 8-8 record at best.
