Who's Buyin' Zion?

I'm curious - with so many people ripping wax and praying their Zion hit is worth Millions.... WHO out there is actually buying his stuff? Is there a sane person who thinks $1,000 for a college auto is a "wise buy?"

I've been proven wrong time and time again (See PSA 10 Aaron Rodgers auto, 2011 Topps Update Trout Rookies, anything with Giannis' name on it") I was way wrong....

Just curious if anyone out there is a big buyer on him with the current prices, can you actually make money or are people just hoping to say "I have a Zion auto?"

I will make that decision when I see NBA gameplay. If i do i think i will try to flip retail prizm and buy base rc prizms and grade and flip. I cant afford a $1,000 mass produced silver prizm.

I hope to find retail Prizm stuff but I know it will be sold out before I even have a chance. Other than that, try to land as many FOTL boxes as possible.

99 percent of peeps where wrong with all guys above mentioned in OP.

Not many people held long enough to see huge gains. Cards of those guys wouldve been sold and then sold again and again with gradual profits by sellers each time. Giannis being the latest guy to see price spike after winning the MVP after 6 whole years. Even now his prices have dropped a little in the off season.

The problem with Zion is he hasnt even played an NBA game yet and anyone buying now has to fork out huge funds and hope that Zion doesnt get hurt and at least win numerous MVPs and rings for the card to hold value.

This is a huuuuuuggggggeee gamble at these prices.

Like insanely huge.

I really do like Zion and hope he does well. But.....I have also been in the hobby long enough to know how the hype machine works every year.

You can buy majority of MJ, Lebron, Kobes best cards or buy a Zion card. Where is the logic?

Some people are saying his stuff and this is only collegiate is worth a new car. REALLY?

Nope, not me. I think the hype will be too much for him to handle at the NBA level. If I pull one of his RC's I will quickly sell it. Rather have the bucket loads of cash than a piece of his overpriced card with a crap auto to boot.

not to play devil's advocate too much because I think these prices are madness but does the fact that it is Duke which may even be a bigger brand than the Pelicans matter?
